The only way you can take 3 steps without it being a travel is if you dont pick the ball up with two hands until the last two steps.. if you have two hands on the ball for three steps its a travel.. if one hand is on the ball for one step, and the next two steps you have your hands on the ball, its not a travel.. I guess thats why its called a gather step cuz both hands aren’t on the ball but correct me if I’m wrong
