The problem with the MixTape is that they are trying to add their own flourishes instead of singing the song well. They're making it about themselves and not Hamilton.

Leto2ndAtreides isn’t that kinda the point? It’s the Hamilton mixtape dude,
not only are these covers, they’re in some weird way, a remix too and a little bit of what if.
They don’t need to be carbon copies , it’s a mixtape, not the original soundtrack

Love John Legend, his soul shines through in this performance, as it does in every performance I have seen/heard. The problem here is that the arrangement is so much worse than the original. There is no build. There is no emotional climb. There is no reason to listen to the entire song or to listen to the song again.

The problem with the mix tape specifically this song is that removed the building up to the higher moments of the song, and removed the feeling of the parts that are supposed to be major.
