I personally think "fast fashion" is a consumer problem rather than a production problem. If you buy a swim trunk from Zara and use it for years, is it really "fast fashion"? Those things are made of syntetic fibers, even the cheap ones last years because synthetic fibers are extremely resistent to chlorine and UV rays. Buying clothes reguraly and unecessarily is "fast fashion", it doesn't matter if you buy them at Zara, Patagonia or Dolce&Gabbana. If you you use them enough and don't buy stuff you don't need, whatever you can afford to buy is OK. We all know quality items will last you longer, and if you can afford them they are always the better choice.
@@clorox1676, I kind of agree with this, but we can't ignore the fact that many companies are incredibly complicit. The use cheap labour, change out their offerings multiple times a month, make shoddy clothing, etc. On there other hand, there are some companies that try to do right by their supply chain, their customers, and the planet. Generally, those are going to cost more. Yes, not everyone can afford it but, oftentimes, the same people who are buying 5 cheap pieces could have spent that money on 1 or 2 excellent pieces by a company that cares.
