The bath house. A touch of traditional class in an ultra modern city. What's not to love. I'm expecting to lose the use of my legs within a year or so but I'm determined to visit the capital as much as possible before then. Met you in the NED. Keep up the good work
Hi Darren, just seen your channel 4 video. Glad you faced the wind and managed to set the sail to achieve your outcome. Your father would be real proud of you. We all own possessions but they come and go and can be replaced. Love your food reviews. So relaxing to watch. I’m looking forward to the Harley outcome video. It better be off the chart!
The smile on your face said it all Darren. I agree, the Ivy is good value for money. Cote brasserie also has a value for money menu (brekkie too) in case you haven't tried them as yet.
Thank you Darren for showing fantastic places to eat. The Ivy looks a lovely place and the prices are amazing for the experience! Yes I agree with you about the prices of some well known high street coffee shops, horrible coffee for too much money!
Nice one Darren .. I'll check it out .. I always thought there was only the one .. And the thought of getting a table or bumping into Piers Morgan always put me off ..
Great vlog Darren. My birthday tradition is always a family breakfast at The Ivy Tower Bridge (with a cheeky glass of champagne) followed by walk down the Thames path towards the Southbank - for more drinks!
Eggs Benedict in Spoons in Sunderland is about £5 plus £1.20 for coffee. So in my view being from London albeit over 30 years ago I find that a very reasonable price to pay.
This is part of The Ivy Collection of more approachable cafe type places. The original Ivy on West Street has a different and more expensive menu - for example eggs Benedict is £20.95.
As you say mate, its worth paying that little bit extra for the service, ambience and quality. I prefer suppporting local businesses than the big chains. You're spot on with this mate and thanks for sharing as always always buddy.
❤❤❤❤ First of all I love The Ivy never been but I shall when I go to London. Benedicts are my favorite and that establishment is so warm welcoming. Thank you DJ for sharing😊😊😊😊😊
That’s the Ivy chain & they are dotted about everywhere, we have one in Hertfordshire. The original Ivy and the proper one is in West St by The Savoy. Different food and different prices.
Good sir I love the way you show us such a wide range of dining, I was over the moon when you showed us vegan the other day and another thing that I adore is the way you show us round London, it always shows me where I'd like to visit next time me and Mr Anon are there, him being from Luton he's been many times, I've only been a couple of times xxx ❤️
Not only did the food look great but I just loved your choice of music. Haven't commented lately but still watch and like every video as they are always very informative and interesting for this Yankee living in Massachusetts but loving Britain.
Agree about the price in a place like that - not cheap but not extortionate. The poached eggs were definitely overdone though (unless you asked for them to be that way) and that's a bit sad for a quality restaurant, regardless of price.
Another outstanding video vlog DJ. The accompanying music is just perfect for your videos and matches beautifully to the subject your filming. Look forward to seeing the Daisy Duke tour sounds exciting.
Im collecting ideas for next time I visit my daughter in London That breakfast place you gave top marks to is miles from hers… The Ivy could be a treat!!!
Another great video, hope your road trip goes well. Off on my motorbike with two great mates end of June visiting Casa Julian near San Sebastian Spain. It is rated as the best Steakhouse in the world 😊
The Ivy great, and the fantastic atmosphere and ambiance. I think for London and such a classic place that's a great deal to be honest, spoiling yourself with a bit a cream in your coffee, why not Darren you so deserve it. Thanks again for another excellent vlog😊♥️👍🏽
Just super glad my partner didn't watch this one with me tonight Darren😉 Yes Eggs benedict is her fave... then you mentioned triple cooked chips! 😬 I'm in!👍
Love the Ivy, been twice recently in London - Covent Garden and Kensington high street. The food is AMAZING and well priced but the staff training needs to be looked at. Had the sough dough bread for starter and asked for balsamic vinegar (brought me chippy vinegar 🙈) The 2 members of staff who I spoke to had never heard of balsamic vinegar so nothing resolved!!! The Ivy in Edinburgh had some though 😂 Ordered a glass of Sauvignon blanc New Zealand from the wine list, it came and I knew it wasn’t Sauvignon, waiter took it away and came back and said they stopped it and gave me a different wine. Would’ve been good to ask me what I’d like as an alternative (this was all at Covent Garden) Then last Saturday the Ivy at Kensington, they brought my husbands starter and I was waiting for mine…ohh, this was served and they still hadn’t brought our bottle of wine that was ordered 😤 Then our mains came and of course 5 minutes later had to grab a member of staff to say we are still waiting for our side dishes. Didn’t complain at either restaurants as I feel it can spoil your meal but I intend to do an email to them. Has put me off the Ivy 😢
All things are relative. I pay that in my local farmshop cafe. Recently we had our birthdays to celebrate (63 and 77) so I took four of us to lunch at the Waterside in Bray. Taster menu etc. I am not rich but to experience the service, ambience and food was a true pleasure. My son tried to get the cost out of me and I politely said if you are worried about the price do not book the table. We all agreed it was an experience to remember and not regret. Now if the food had not been good it might have been another story.
That looks delicious 😊 Talking of costs, I have relatives who'll go on a daytrip and be thirsty all day because they won't pay for a cuppa 🙄 Why go out then? Loving seeing the different sights ❤
Darren I fully agree about the Ivy excellent in every way Recently we went for lunch in the Ivy Glasgow had 2 courses with a bottle of Malbec and Bottle Water our bill was £82 which we thought was value for money ❤👍
Looks delicious. Many are struggling we know, but please others have a treat now and again. Make the struggle worthwhile. I love the way you filmed between the eggs with The Vine in between and the garnish looked like vines. Great video sweet xx
Dazza, I don't think it's overly expensive myself however the mess the country is in with the cost of living a huge percentage of the British population are struggling to put food on the table and heat their homes and that's the folk out grafting every week. The working class might find that expensive never mind folk that don't work.
Hi Darren. Definitely agree with you. I was at Las iguanas in Glasgow with my daughter and granddaughter today for lunch. No alcohol, 1 starter and no desserts and bill was £79.60. so they are all about the same now. But having their company is well worth it! Enjoy your day. 🥰🌞🥰Xxx
One word to say about food is FANTASTIC.. Though I am vegetarian it looks really really awesome..secondly ur video quality now is on another level. Nice vlogs DJ as always.
That meal and coffee, with tax and an expected tip of about 25% [or just take the scowls and laugh], would cost you well over $40 in Manhattan. Eggs were over-poached for me, but otherwise perfection on a plate.
Looked quality food in a quality establishment, and for where it is, a fair price. I had a chuckle to myself when reading in the menu . . . “fried ‘hens’ eggs”! All the best.
would you do a breakfast review at one of the top hotels?? x the menu....£14.95 for a full English breakfast is damn reasonable for an establishment such as the Ivy...x
saying something is or is not expensive is realitive to your income or state of mind when it comes to food and how much it should or should not cost. I am always careful when I talk about prices.
If I could go there and have those eggs but not with salmon though I'd be happy, I've had a look at the menu and even I think it looks reasonable. They do a burger for £17 with chips I think that's fine and £19.50 for shepherds pie again I think that is reasonable and also it's London so I agree with DJ its reasonable. Also for DJ a nice treat and one he shared with all, so thank you DJ.
Only ever been to the Ivy once in Clifton, however was not impressed breakfast and service were average at best, sort of put me off going again. Your experience seems to have been better, certainly looked good
You summed it up Darren, it’s a beautiful place amazing decor not a back street cafe , I don’t think it was extortionate for what you had , I would go there any day of the week if I lived in London
What a great vid DJ. The Ivy restaurants are brilliant, and as you say dont break the bank. As for the hidden gems you find - reminds me why I love London so much and am blessed to live so close. You mentioned ivy asia - ive been to the one in Mayfair and that doesnt break the bank either and the food is "off the charts". Top man DJ.
Looking forward to the trees having leaves again. Your food at The Ivy looked very delicious and the place is gorgeous inside. As always, thanks for sharing. If any viewers of this vlog are reading my comment, why the heck are you not subscribed to this channel. ?? We need honest people on You Tube and Darren John never disappoints. x
Looked very nice indeed but eggs not runny enough for my liking. Yes it's cheaper up North but but when in Rome as the saying goes 🤣 A frequent visitor to the South I've acclimatised myself to the price difference 👍
Wow Darren that’s what I would consider a Class place ..from decor to presentation of eggs Benedict & beyond You pay little more for quality but saying that it was worth it A take away coffee in Dublin is same as the coffee you got home h Excellent vlog & loved the music Would just love to go back to London Xx👍👍
Poached eggs looked a little overdone to me, but otherwise delicious. I've done the Ivy in Winchester with my other half and we did £150, although there were a few beverages on that bill 🙂
I totally agree with you Darren, I have asked you before when are you taking me? We can go Dutch as I am rather partial to a G@T with Ivy fish and chips. Let me know some dates, don’t panic I am of a certain age so no threat I am very fond of you and would enjoy sharing a lunch at the Ivy with you . No other agenda than your great company and smile . 💕x
Very reasonable price the eggs looked cooked to perfection makes a nice change from the full English breakfast I would have thought price would be higher 👍
Looks great Darren and although not put off by it, the eggs were overcooked to my taste. Runny yolk or not for me a no-brainer. Runny, Price not an issue for quality.
Great video. The Ivy is on our list of places to visit in London. We are staying at The Crown in London in Crickelwood Any suggestions for good restaurants or street markets or cool places around there. Of course we will be going to lots of more tourist places but would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks much, love Rissy from Vancouver BC Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️
Brilliant once again Darren u really are the most underrated food reviewer out there absolutely smashing it , looking forward for the next 1
Very kind of you Andy
That looked absolutely fantastic eggs Benedict you pay for quality and enjoy very tasty food. Great vlog thanks. Colin
That looked scrumptious…. I noticed the Full English is £14.95…. Very reasonable, and I’m guessing no catering sausage’s…. I’ll be visiting soon!! 👍
Class act ! Music makes the content brilliant, You have a real talent. Off the charts!!

Lovely video Darren.Pretty reasonable for London & looked so good..and for the coffee too...always quality over costa. Thanks for sharing👍
The smile on your face said it all Darren. I agree, the Ivy is good value for money. Cote brasserie also has a value for money menu (brekkie too) in case you haven't tried them as yet.
Such beautiful surroundings, I could sit there with just a coffee, but a meal as well wow. Thanks again for sharing. Happy Easter. 🐇🐥😘💚
Thank you Darren for showing fantastic places to eat. The Ivy looks a lovely place and the prices are amazing for the experience! Yes I agree with you about the prices of some well known high street coffee shops, horrible coffee for too much money!

That building at the end of your film had some of the best brickwork i have seen, the victorians were masters at it.Thank's Daren.
❤❤❤❤ First of all I love The Ivy never been but I shall when I go to London. Benedicts are my favorite and that establishment is so warm welcoming. Thank you DJ for sharing😊😊😊😊😊

Great video as always Darren. I love The ivy, Ivy Asia is equally amazing. I’ve visited the one in Cardiff a few times x
Not only did the food look great but I just loved your choice of music. Haven't commented lately but still watch and like every video as they are always very informative and interesting for this Yankee living in Massachusetts but loving Britain.
Thank you Helen

Fabulous Darren, well, worth the money and the experience. I've been to the one in L A same quality and service. Thanks for sharing 😊😊😊😊
Great to know that the price is so reasonable tbh I didn’t realise, definitely be giving the ivy a visit in the near future. Thanks for sharing 👍😁
There’s one in Edinburgh and it is fabulous. Good choice. Thanks.

Almost perfect eggs Benedict, I’d like the yokes a bit more runny but still looked lush!
Nice bit of camera work there Darren! Nice one!👍😊👏👏👏❤️
That sounds like a very reasonable price
£15 for eggs benedict and a coffee in the Ivy in London is amazing, more importantly the eggs benedict looked amazing.
that price is great. A lot of good local cafes charge that or more!. great video!!

One of the most expensive restaurants in the UK, forgive my noseyness but I'd love to know how much ?
Watch the whole video - prices mentioned 🙏🏼🙂
One of my favourite dishes, looks superb! Great value for money in London!
For London prices that seems a reasonably priced menu. Thank you for another great vlog xx
You’re welcome 😊
That looks delicious 😊 Talking of costs, I have relatives who'll go on a daytrip and be thirsty all day because they won't pay for a cuppa 🙄 Why go out then? Loving seeing the different sights ❤
@@Rodgerslicker probably too tight to buy one 😄
Knew some people who would take a packed lunch of jam sandwiches and a bottle of water, sometimes a piece of fruit.
Darren I fully agree about the Ivy excellent in every way
Recently we went for lunch in the Ivy Glasgow had 2 courses with a bottle of Malbec and Bottle Water our bill was £82 which we thought was value for money ❤👍
One of my favourite breakfast eggs Benedict
Looks delicious. Many are struggling we know, but please others have a treat now and again. Make the struggle worthwhile.

Hi there, another great video like always that looked amazing. Keep up the good work I can always say a fantastic video
Thank you so much 😁
Dazza, I don't think it's overly expensive myself however the mess the country is in with the cost of living a huge percentage of the British population are struggling to put food on the table and heat their homes and that's the folk out grafting every week.
The working class might find that expensive never mind folk that don't work.
I was one of those people - however, that's not the point here. I am showing London in every capacity, hopefully being creative along the way 👍🏼🙏🏼
Quality place, top quality food, it looked 1st class, reasonable price for London. Off the Charts, 10/10 from me. Happy Easter DJ.
Hi Darren. Definitely agree with you. I was at Las iguanas in Glasgow with my daughter and granddaughter today for lunch. No alcohol, 1 starter and no desserts and bill was £79.60. so they are all about the same now. But having their company is well worth it! Enjoy your day. 🥰🌞🥰Xxx
It's good to eat out with great company
Quality is top notch and I was surprised at the price, very reasonable ( I'm in Manchester and would pay the same sort of prices)
One word to say about food is FANTASTIC.. Though I am vegetarian it looks really really awesome..secondly ur video quality now is on another level. Nice vlogs DJ as always.
Their vegetation menu isn't bad I think, take a look if you get the chance.
Very reasonable price and it looked very nice
Enjoyed watching
Happy Easter and best wishes Darren
Glad you enjoyed it
Lovley vblog Darren ivy is beautiful that looked yummy , have been before thanks love it when you say how u doin lol, looking forward to bike journey
Thanks so much

Think it was a Turkish restaurant below before...was for sale 1983 ish
Must say Daran it looked great as so did the coffee, not really my choice for a breckie but v nice and reasonably priced 😊
Looked great, one of my favourites and I’d pay that no bother in such lovely surroundings.
Totally agree
Absolutely love your vlogs mate thank you
Go to ivy Asia and have the Asian experience. £50 but what an experience absolutely gorgeous
Eloquent and delicious..the food looked good too..😲🤣🌟
Looked quality food in a quality establishment, and for where it is, a fair price. I had a chuckle to myself when reading in the menu . . . “fried ‘hens’ eggs”! All the best.
Wow!! Amazing food and great value
Love you justifying the costs Darren. 😁
Seriously looked good. Like eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Yum!
would you do a breakfast review at one of the top hotels?? x the menu....£14.95 for a full English breakfast is damn reasonable for an establishment such as the Ivy...x
saying something is or is not expensive is realitive to your income or state of mind when it comes to food and how much it should or should not cost. I am always careful when I talk about prices.
It is excellent value and you know top quality ingredients and top quality suppliers that Caprice Holdings use
Looked delicious. Don't mind the price for the eggs Benedict but the price for the coffee was a rip off
Could not agree more with your comments 👍👍 keep the video's coming excellent
Yes definitely OTC! Why not enjoy an upscale place once in a while?
You pay £3.50 in Costa for coffee .You are right you are in a lovely restaurant .
If I could go there and have those eggs but not with salmon though I'd be happy, I've had a look at the menu and even I think it looks reasonable. I'd love to go in the ivy in Leeds but I'd be a lone diner so I'd feel people were gawping at me lol.. food looks 😋 though 😋
Just have to love the quality of that breakfast 💕 perfect

👍🏼👌🏼🙏🏼
Ivy or not you'd think they could poach eggs properly I'd have sent that back. Great video as usual Darren x
Apologies, I didn't mention - I asked for soft yolks 🙏🏼🙂
No, it's not expensive. It's about the same as my local Italian, but the Ivy is a nicer place.Great Vlog Darren

Soft yolk, just how I ordered them 🙏🏼👍🏼
Good prices for London and it looked nice
Great video. The Ivy is on our list of places to visit in London. We are staying at The Crown in London in Crickelwood
Any suggestions for good restaurants or street markets or cool places around there. Of course we will be going to lots of more tourist places but would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks much, love Rissy from Vancouver BC Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️
Willesden Green is a place nearby, but to be honest I don't know the area that well
@Darren John thanks for answering. Have a great evening 🩷
Looked so nice food and surrounding, can’t believe the price, off to Google The Ivy in the North 😂
Yes good value especially in the smoke
We got an ivy in Norwich.. it’s very good
The uk has a fantastic food scene nowadays.
It’s not expensive looks beautiful
