I made some cute Christmas earrings using shrinky dink plastic years ago.
Remember to punch a hole in the plastic before heating it.
I absolutely LOVE this!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
If only this would work on my belly 🙂
Oh my, I love this. About 25 years ago (!) one of my colleagues (in a school) made keyrings with the kids out of yoghurt pots and crisp packets! She did it in the oven and I’ve always wanted to try! Defo need me a heat tool now! ❤
I love this! I’m getting ready to go to a Stampin Up gathering. I’m going to try this. Thanks for sharing Sam!
WOW! I'm just going on to order some shrink plastic. Thank you 💖
Oooooh can't wait to make some of these!!! Great video Sam.
Sam, totally not craft related but I THOUGHT of you !! I was at an antique mall and there was a booth with beautiful huge rings! I tried some on just for you!
That looks like so much fun. Thank you for sharing 😊🤗
Thanks for the inspiration - never tried this before but now have received my shrink wrap order so cant wait to try
Thank you, Sam. 🥰 I loved doing this many years back. I used a toaster oven rather than a heat gun but it had the same effect. I might give the heat gun a try. Now I have to go dig out my shrink plastic. I wonder where it got to....
I LOVE it! thanks for showing us how to do shrinky dinks 🙂
Thank you for this. I’ve never done before but I got some plastic and tried it today!
Great video Sam as always
Love ❤ Barbie sized crafts tools! Thanks for sharing 😊
You can use a pancake maker to shrink these. Marian Eberson did it in one of her videos.
what fun!
I did not know I could use a heat gun! But I might still have an oven from my kids childhoods❤❤😅
Oh my! Endless possibilities for embellishments!!!! Thanks again Sam for a great video 💖
ADORABLE 🥰 I USED TO USE A WOODEN SKEWER LAID ACROSS THE ITEM TO SHRINK.
Poke a hole before shrinking so you can use a jump ring for hanging or earrings.
I still love using my shrink plastic to make charms. I always have my stamp block on hand to flatten them once I’ve shrunk them. I’ve got some to go through my printer but haven’t had the chance to try it out yet. It’s so satisfying watching it melt 😂xx
You can also pop them in a toaster oven or full size oven for a few seconds and get the s
ame results without having to wrestle with the heat gun for each one. I have a dedicated toaster oven and plug it in on the back porch to avoid fumes in the house. i can do 20-40 pieces in about 5 minutes.
My sister & I made these over 50 years ago & they were so much fun. I can’t wait to try them again. Thank you for the inspiration & I love, love, love hearing you laugh & have so much fun! 😂😂😂😂
I would have thrown that away and never got it out ever again. Thank you.
Fascinating, I've never used shrink plastic. I know a little girl who will adore this!
Like others, I remember shrinking our crisp packets in the oven. Your stamps and sentiments look so cute, I will have to give this a try. Your laughter and joy in this video has really brightened my mood too, just what I needed, thanks Sam 🥰
Oh yeah, i would have freaked out. Im glad i watched till the end to see that flatten back out! They're cute.
Enjoyed watching you make mini craft tools.
I used to LOVE to make things with Shrink Plastic ❤❤ I even got my son into it when he was younger ❤❤ Great Memories!!❤ Thank you for the idea for cards, craft storage and folios ❤❤
what was old is new again. everything seems to cycle around. thanks for the reminder of this technique.
I've never seen this, adorable.
Wow!! I have never used anything like this before! Thank you so much for introducing this new medium. Love all the little shapes!! TFS!! 💕🌴😎
I made some for embellishments for my Valentines Day cards!
I love shrink plastic! Thanks for the reminder to use it.
Adorable! New way to make ephemera. Bet the flowers look amazing. OMG the animals!!
Been a very long time since I used shrink plastic. Great idea.
Fabulous Sam, who doesn't love shrink plastic. Reminds me of the crisp packets we used to shrink as a child xx
We used to melt them in the over on a cookie sheet. They are so much fun to make. Thanks for the revisit, Sam
That’s amazing Sam! Can’t believe the wording came out so well!
Gob smacked!,😊
I made some Christmas gnome earrings a few years ago with shrink plastic, I love it!
Not watched you for a while. Got in a rabbit hole of clean and simple cards. I’m now ready to restart the papercraft art …. Not tried shrink plastic , so I know what my hobby craft voucher will be spent on. Loved how excited you sounded! 🎉
Hi. This is outstanding, it does look dreadfully addictive though. I think little shrink shapes would be great as dangling from the ends of bookmarks, attached to notebooks and folders, keychains, etc, the list is endless. Yes, I do think this could be VERY addictive indeed! Thank you so much for sharing this great video and have a fabulous day. 😊
I was always curious about this, but I always thought you had to use the oven to shrink it. Silly me. Sam, these are so adorable. Love it!
Cute to make little shaker elements too!
How fun! I also had forgotten about shrink plastic. Thanks for bringing it back.
Here's a couple of tips-I use a metal pan so that i can contain it, and I also have a metal spatula to flatten it before it has time to cool. :) I love making these! Amazon US also has black shrink plastic.
Love them!
I’m going to try this!!! Thanks Sam!
Super adorable cannot wait to see the end result on your cady!
Aww these are fab 👌 xx
Just bought this set can’t wait to use it xxx
So much fun to watch you do things Sam that's an inspiration again
That is so cool luv it thank you for sharing.❤❤❤❤❤
Oh now I think I need these in my life. 😍
Love shrink plastic and use it with the grandkids. I just cut it into rectangles and they draw on the plastic. Then, I shrink them in the oven. Thanks for the video on using it with stamps.
I have always wanted to try doing this! I love watching you work on anything
Thank you !
That looks so satisfying. X
I used a rose (my last name is Rose) stamp and made a few of these. I used them as little dangles/charms to put on my good scissors when I went to craft retreats. I always knew where they were.
They are adorable. Tfs.
Oh goodness… too cute!!! Amazon should be delivering today. Yay!!! 💕🌺
I’ve just bought some shrink plastic, had a little play, I love this stuff 😊😊
Hello Sam this was so much fun to watch love how bright it they turn out ❤
Y’all can use the oven for these, I shall age myself now, we use to have a blast back in the 70’s with then called "shrink a dinks" some baking sheets on a baking pan (for cookies) and shrink to your hearts content you can make so many at one time, and make your heart so happy to make them. 😂😂😂 Tfs this memorable craft. ❤😊
Used to make the Shrinky Dinks with my sons when they were 5-6 years old. Such fun! I still have some of their Christmas ornaments.
Cuteness overload 😍 I love this. Thank you for sharing Sam. Take care 😊
I LOVE this Sam! I haven’t used shrink plastic in years! Thanks so much for “refreshing” my memory. I have to try this. As always, love love love your videos and all the inspiration…THANK YOU!😊
I love your laugh, it is so mood brightening. ❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Wow these are so cute. I have some shrink plastic so I need to get busy and try this. Thanks for showing the process and all the tips.
They are so cute
I love this idea and I have just found some pink shrink plastic :) xxxxx
Love it love it love it, such fun, I remember doing the crisp packets tfs x
Super cute Sam 🥰 I love your stamp-set, your techniques and your tutorial. They are just perfect ❤️ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
Wow I have to try this and I really need to get this stamp set 😅
I made your cute kitten in to a shrinkie before. But these are amazing.
É..inventam tudo para nos dar volta à cabeça.😊😊 Obrigada, já tinha visto o seu outro vídeo mas já tinha esquecido. Muito obrigada.
I love it. I remember when we used to bake them in the oven. Lol
I loved doing that!
I have shrink paper and forgot how much fun this is. I wonder if you could use a little removable tape to hold it down? This would be fun with SU's Tool set!
You have really got asbestos fingers Sam. My fingers were burning just watching you. Great video.
Adorable sam
These are so cute how could I make a charm for my glue bottle with these
Were they called Shrinky Dinks? I think I got mine out of the coco pops box of cereal, back in the day!! I had Tom and Jerry. Coloured them in and popped them in the oven!! Great memories. Thanks Sam xx
❤
It is important to stamp on the side, you want to be the front,( if there's difference between the sides), especially if you stamp sentiments. Otherwise it comes out mirrored (ask me how I know 😮😄)
Try shrinking in a pancake maker
More suff I have to buy. 😂😂😂
You need to make a ring with a ring blank love it
I already did in my older video. 😀
Omg I’ve been using these for years. I put mine in the oven 7:05
Fun isn't it! I remember making key rings out of melted crisp packets when I was a kid, loved it!
I can't wait to try this! Can you tell me what kind of color pencils you used? ❤
Hello. All craft products and tools I use are listed in the links below the video. 😊
HI Sam. Muriel from Washington State. I watched your playlist on "Using your scraps to make cards". I LOVE IT. Can you share where I might find the plastic envelopes you use to house the scraps in? Or are they something you made out of existing envelopes? Please let me know. Thanks,
Hello . All my craft supplies and tools I use are listed in the links below the video. 😊
I can't find the link for the plastic you used!
What glue do you use to stick down plastic??? Thankyou for the video, most informative.
Hello . If I was to stick any this to plastic I would use double sided tape. 😊
Thankyou.@@MixedUpCraft
SAM will this work if you die cut them out too, just wondering why you didn’t use the dies xx
Because my shrink plastic cracks when cut, some others may be ok, so like i said in the video, experiment with what you have. 😀
I Wonder. ..how many rings Do you have ??👀
Hello. I do show my ring collection in a video on my mixed up craft channel if you would like to see them 😊
Really ?? I would like to see them. ❤ thanks for answer🤗
Why didn’t you just put them in the oven and shrink them all at once?
Because I didn't! I'm in my craft room filming, by all means put them in your oven if you prefer, I remember melting crisp packets that way when i was a kid and making keyrings.
Now, where is my shrink plastic?…..
I make the cuties earrings with the shrinky dink ha ha now I will need to try ephemeral pieces for my cards and journal books!
