He fucked his vocal chords up and needed surgery, and I feel that right there changed a lot, especially how they approached their style from then on out so as to not stress his voice out again. Still an awesomely talented dude.
C Sm And we have to understand Davey is not the same boy 20 years ago. It's obviously that, through the years his voice had to change. Thanks for your comment ❤
Bull shit, he is in xtremist they still fucking scream, so get facts straight. You act like you know what your talking about like most new fans do. Then talk shit on the punkers that made this band popular. Biggest sell out punks band. Its unfortunate too. Cuz they used to be so fucking good.

The band is so incredibly innovative for being able to create beautiful things while pushing themselves to the brink stylistically to take care of Davey.
He was at his peak during Black Sails and Art of Drowning. But, I figured that vocal style wouldn't last. hell, it made my throat hurt just listening to it.
Can't help but disagree. Havok has shown much better range and control over his vocals over the last 4-5 albums. Great example in this video - kill caustic
Fascinating! And what's more, he has yet another vocal style as half of Blaqk Audio. On all those songs his voice is really deep, powerful but very smooth and soft at the same time. Like hot chocolate, someone I know once said.
He evolved and as he explored his other influences, his sound did too lol...and even when he graced mainstream audiences, he had his own style within it that others could only copy. Davey has always been one of my FAVORITE Artists in the scene, and have seen him play many times. Am looking forward to seeing him this Spring 🖤🔥🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
I believe his vocal evolution has created a transformation what is nice. Some people like his older voice. Some people like cats instead of dogs. If you scream allot you’ll fuck your voice up, but I think he pushed through it to a point where he’s found where he’s comfortable. It’s polarizing, you either like his voice or don’t.
NO he actually was a bad ass punker and not some alternative shit head. Fucking new fans were never their from the start and will never fucking get it. They sold fucking out. Davey can't even sing with this alternative phase he is in. They were one of the most bad ass punk bands ever, now what the hell are they. Sold out to these new age fans that will never fucking understand punk. So, I hate to be rude but you will never get it cuz you probably weren't even born in 93. Which doesn't mean I was. I was born in 78. So, now you can stop assuming I was. Reason I said you probably weren't born in 93 is because thats when I started listening to them in high school.

Well let's be real he really pushed himself to the core to perform the wonderful content him and AFI have made! Also not many people knew that he had a CYST in his throat that was removed which in turn greatly affected his singing abilities. I appreciate his sacrifice and the time the time and years he performed epically for us. Alas... age :(

If you weren't their from the start you have no idea wtf your talking about. A mature man! Wtf? Bad religion one of the God fathers of punk didn't sell out. Pennywise either.
