Thats the main problem for me with pigs. I hate having to use my money to purchase hog feed. I was always envious of the school janitor. He got the lunchroom garbage to feed his hogs. The best advice I ever heard was to plant as much corn as you possibly could. useevery available corner to plant corn. years ago folks planted Rape for hog pasture.
I feel the same way. I hate having to buy feed. I've read somewhere that rapeseed is an excellent feed source for pigs on pasture. I may have to include some in the mix next time.
