  • The Shamrocks from The Isle of Wight. This Jimmy Reed tune was released as the A-side of their first single in 1965. This is the stereo version of the track that opened their sole, self-titled LP (pictured).
    Enjoy!

I miss my dad, Pete Channing, he would have been so elated to see people’s reactions to this!

My father saw this band live and brought home this LP, that I loved instantly and "stole" from him in the 70s.

That is me on the right, recording bassman on all tracks of the LP. Recorded November 1964 and released in 1965. There is a whole chapter devoted to the three months (October to December) promotional tour in my book 'The Mighty Hybrid and The Keeper of the Slabs' - also some great pics of the time!

Makes me very proud as the drummer, Pete Channing, was my Grandad.

I love your grandad's drumming. Every day I hear this song. My father saw this band in the sixties in Germany.

And it is a delicious LP at that.
