All Aurora feeds are ebonite. Aurora does not use plastic in its feeds, even on its lowest-priced models. The reddish tinge is chracteristics of ebonite.
That's the same feed on Aurora Optima models, and I'm almost 100% sure it's ebonite - I believe Aurora is one of the few companies still using machined ebonite feeds for their higher end offerings. Thanks for the cool video!
Love my Aurora Talentum in black with chrome trim. Nice video. Only remark I would like to make is that I do not think the feed is plastic - it is, as far as I know, Ebonite, provides a much better writing experience and is more expansive than the usually normally used plastic feed.
I like Aurora refills. I don't see the point of paying for the rollerball tho. It writes the same in any pen I put it in. I may get Talentum fountain pen. I like the nib feedback.
I love Auroras. All of mine are mediums and write more like broads. I think I'll give their fine nib a try in my next, perhaps with this pen. Should you prefer a smoother nib this can easily be done with micromesh. The Talentum reminds me of my 88. Unless Aurora has changed production methods, their feeds have traditionally been made of ebonite. Thanks for your fine review.
Yup, ebonite. Matte red-black, crisply machined masterpieces. They are etched for line weight on the flat of the feed. The tooth is nice and serves to start the pen with unremitting reliability. Aurora and Sailor make great nibs and feeds. Cheers!
Thanks for the review! I'm searching for the reviews of this model for a very long time. One question: As for the barrel, is it entirely plastic or it has some metal liner in it?

So true, so true….

what do you mean by a better writing experience?
Better writing experience in the sense that the ink flows more freely and makes writing better.
I have an Aurora Ipsilon with a steel B nib and it is a bit soft and gives some spring or bounce when writing.

pilot g2 refills fit the rollerball. :)

+Nick Wong There is no liner in it. The only metal is the end cap. I found it well balanced un-posted. Thanks for the compliments.
