    could you please explain the difference between wrap curve and project curve.....

    Hello Mr. Baker,
    What is the best way to wrap curve onto the non-developable face?
    Length of the curve before/after wrap is very important. Tolerance has to be minimal.
    Any advice is very appreciated.

      same as above: create an approximate developable face, wrap your curve on it, then you may want to fill surface between the original curve and wrapped curve, and extend it to cross your target surface, so the intersection will be what you want (well, probably not exactly what you want but the best you can get this way)

      @@i.k.562 but what, exactly, is a developable face according to NX? Like, a swept surface, even if it's made from two arcs, doesn't apparently count...

    This tool raises an error (at least in NX 11) if a portion of the Face is parallel to the Plane. E.g. a cube with rounded edges doesn't work unless the roundings are separated from the flat surfaces (for which I failed to find any other method than splitting the body between the rounding and the flat part).

      Yes ..It's only helpful for round /cylindrical shape

    А как быть с криволинейными поверхностями, NX на них не сворачивает/разворачивает?

    • @i.k.562
      @i.k.562 4 года назад

      никак, только на развертывающихся поверхностях
      ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A0%D0%B0%D0%B7%D0%B2%D1%91%D1%80%D1%82%D1%8B%D0%B2%D0%B0%D1%8E%D1%89%D0%B0%D1%8F%D1%81%D1%8F_%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B5%D1%80%D1%85%D0%BD%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%82%D1%8C
      Ну я делал развертываемую поверхность приблизительно к целевой, развертывал кривую на нее, потом обычными методами - сечением, проекцией (сечением - когда строишь поверхность между исходной кривой и развернутой, по необходимости вытягиваешь, потом сечешь целевой поверхностью)
