They sure used triggers in studio as most bands do (dream theater included!) Buy having seen Lab live several time I can ensure you any drummer they had was always capable to play drum parts perfectly on stage, even better.
Esta banda es mucho mejor y más entretenida q los putos Dream Theater. Este disco es una obra maestra entre el metal progresivo, mucho mejor q el maldito y culero Images & Words o el estúpido Iconoclast d Symphony X (menciono a estas bandas d la USA solo x hacer una comparación con el mainstream pero tmbn las disfruto a su momento)

Not to be those horrible boring pc drum kickers in fast passages, it would be quite a good album!
Is it a drum machine or just a heavy use of triggers? Would of been better with a proper organic drum sound. Saying that, the songs are still good.
