FIDF Briefing: Yoni Asseraf, Motivational Speaker and Medal of Courage Recipient - April 7, 2024

FIDF Chief Executive Officer Steve Weil welcomes Yoni (Benjamin) Asseraf, Motivational Public Speaker and Recipient of the Medal of Courage (Itur HaOz) in the Second Lebanon War, to offer a unique perspective on Israel's ongoing war with Hamas. Late at night on October 6th in Los Angeles, Yoni began receiving unusual WhatsApp messages from his family in Ashkelon, which was under attack. He dropped everything and flew back home to Israel to fight for the IDF. As a paratrooper who fought in Gaza, Yoni provides us with an inside look (pictures and video included) from the operations he took part in.
Steve and Yoni then discuss the experiences of Israeli soldiers fighting in this war, the elaborate tunnel system under Gaza, the role of Gazan civilians in Hamas' strategy, and the future of IDF operations in Khan Yunis.
