While I sort of agree, I also think there are many, many cases where it's absolutely fair and reasonable to talk about the circumstances that led you to do something, whether external or internal. There is a big difference between "explaining" and "excusing", and many people misunderstand that.

Honestly, his Kick apology felt pretty genuine, but it was on a platform nobody watched and everyone claimed his word choice was shitty. Saying "I fucked up" wasn't good, people said, as if that wasn't just how Nux talked. In this apology, he laid aside the persona and spoke more clearly and formally. Now, he clearly made some mistakes still - even things Taiga herself has clarified - but expecting perfection from Nux is a fools errand. Ultimately, I think he did okay. Not astounding - which would be placing a sizeable donation onto Taiga's fundraiser - or terrible - like his two previous attempts at apologies. And ultimately, his apology isn't for us to accept or deny. We can wave our flags all we want, but this isn't about us - it's about Taiga. She ultimately has the final say.

If I'm not mistaken it's not as though Nux has changed his perspective about Loli and Shota, and him believing that it is the same as CP. So the foundation for his apology is questionable anyway. Nux is confused and disoriented because just like how he "heard rumors" that Taiga is a predator, he has now "heard rumors" that the allegations were false. If it were up to Nux to scrutinize the facts based on his own standards I am confident he would reach the wrong conclusions unless his views have actually changed, however I have no reason to believe that, he is so disengaged with the facts he can't even form an opinion of his own, and the only reason he is engaging with the issue at all is because his words have made him look bad, that's all he knows.
His views did change actually, long before all of this. If you look into MXR’s situation, you’d think they were being personally targeted by someone at RUclips. They got their channel terminated recently for a clip in a video they made a year ago. They had similar strikes in the past where clips from their videos from ages ago are suddenly struck by RUclips. So how am I supposed to trust what RUclips says and does with bans and terminations?
Well technically the two coincide. RUclips claims mass reporting doesn't auto ban, but if it does get them to review it, the reviewer could hit the ban hammer. In MxR situation, if a reviewer has an issue with the channel and is targeting them, well that still isn't auto banning from mass reports.

Depends where you're from. For example in france you can legally buy suggestive l0li artwork at anime conventions by the dozen. But if you use an MSpaint fill tool with skin color on the panties and add a black line at the bottom of it you're now a cr1minal and public enemy #1 wanted across the country so you can be put in prison for years. Years later he makes a video filled with misinformation, apologizes that he was wrong, then tries to both justify himself believing what he said, and says he is not accountinle for the harassment his words may have caused. He then throws Taiga, shylily clips, and other Vtubers under the bus by saying it was their faults for being banned for "sexual content" when that wasn't the case for either of them. Why not just say he's sorry and accept that his words may have caused hate, and left it at that? Why add an apology in an unrelated video?

Well, to be fair his main channel is pretty much cooked at this point, and he's admitted as such that his main channel is shadowbanned. For all intents and purposes, Nuxanor pretty much is his main channel now. That being said, his "apology" was so incredibly half-assed. Not truly taking accountability and acknowledging just how severely he damaged Taiga's reputation, downplaying how much he should be blamed, and claiming that he "already apologized" on his podcast and in a pinned comment on the video which contained the accusation. Nevermind that the comment on the accusation video was add so much later that pretty much no one saw it, and nevermind that his apology on the podcast took up little more than a couple minutes of a much larger video with likely many in the audience not overlapping with the audience of his original video to begin with, especially when many of the viewers of that podcast come from Oompaville's and Mutahar's audiences. And even now, he shoehorns in a half-assed apology at the end of a larger video, dodging blame and downplaying his contribution to Taiga's harassment. He'll do anything but just bite the bullet and make a dedicated video on his RUclips channel, apologizing to Taiga publicly without qualifying his apology with weak excuses and deflections.
This might just be the cynic in me talking but even if he does make dedicated video where he fully lays out how his actions whether directly or indirectly caused harm to Taiga mentally, emotionally, professionally and physically he still wouldn't be off the hook hell he could show his face in the video and people would still tear him to pieces. dedicated video or not people are never gonna accept anything he says as genuine regardless of if he is being genuine or not

He's only saying sorry for what he said, not at all about the damage he caused BECAUSE of those statements. 7:16 Just to also add onto this, the viewers who watch the ordinary podcast is not the exact same viewers that come from his main or secondary channels. So everyone who saw what Nux was saying about Taiga on his main channel could have possibly not have seen what he said on the ordinary podcast. Not to say that no one from his main or secondary channel saw this, it's just more likely only a portion from his channels saw it.
The Shylily statement from Nux highlights one more massive issue with him. He doesn't research what he talks about. This is how he got into this mess in the first place, you'd think he'd learn by now.

Agreed. It's disappointing to see how he refuses to humble himself and put away the edgy persona for something as serious as false accusations and slander. On the brighter side, at least more people are aware of Taiga's situation and giving him support.

How would you structure a public apology? Can you remember any public apology you've seen that left you feeling the person apologizing honestly felt remorse?
Honestly, I don't want a public apology. At best, it shows the person is willing to humble themselves. What would be even better is if they humbled themselves by actually getting into contact with the party they hurt, apologizing to them privately, and start making changes in their behavior. If Nux just tweeted "I'm talking with Taiga about the situation", apologized to him (over email if he's too ashamed to call), and made an effort to do better moving forward, that'd be fantastic.

There is a big difference between "explaining" and "excusing", and many people misunderstand that.

What I find irritating, and this is on RUclips, not Nux or anyone else, but as stated how there are Vtubers getting hit hard for "lewd" content when there is literally a Japanese Man who's WHOLE CHANNEL is based around Japanese women who don't wear bra's... He "apologized" on his smaller channel, on a platform nobody watches, and basically said "I'm sorry this happened to you. Moving on!" and now his new "apology" is literally the same as his old, on a video that isn't even dedicated to apologizing. Nux fans are delulu.
Honestly, his Kick apology felt pretty genuine, but it was on a platform nobody watched and everyone claimed his word choice was shitty. Saying "I fucked up" wasn't good, people said, as if that wasn't just how Nux talked. In this apology, he laid aside the persona and spoke more clearly and formally. Now, he clearly made some mistakes still - even things Taiga herself has clarified - but expecting perfection from Nux is a fools errand.
Ultimately, I think he did okay. Not astounding - which would be placing a sizeable donation onto Taiga's fundraiser - or terrible - like his two previous attempts at apologies. And ultimately, his apology isn't for us to accept or deny. We can wave our flags all we want, but this isn't about us - it's about Taiga. She ultimately has the final say.

Nux himself acknowledges the power he holds in his video about Rev, outright saying that the video is on his side channel because if it were on the main channel and got main channel traffic, he'd run the risk of Rev getting deplatformed. You don't get to say "he doesn't have that influence" when he himself says you're wrong.
Nevermind he's in a position to associate and make content alongside big names like Charlie and Mutahar, who have massive audiences themselves and are liable to believe whatever he says on their channels. If it were up to Nux to scrutinize the facts based on his own standards I am confident he would reach the wrong conclusions unless his views have actually changed, however I have no reason to believe that, he is so disengaged with the facts he can't even form an opinion of his own, and the only reason he is engaging with the issue at all is because his words have made him look bad, that's all he knows.
His views did change actually, long before all of this. He was previously known for having highly explicit pictures of lolis in thumbnails and even had a video dedicated to Rule 34 of an underage character. He also tried to collab with Shadman in the past, and while I'm willing to believe Nux genuinely didn't know that Shadman had drawn porn of real children in the past, you will never convince me he didn't know Shadman was a PROLIFIC loli porn artist.

If you look into MXR’s situation, you’d think they were being personally targeted by someone at RUclips. They got their channel terminated recently for a clip in a video they made a year ago. They had similar strikes in the past where clips from their videos from ages ago are suddenly struck by RUclips. So how am I supposed to trust what RUclips says and does with bans and terminations?
Well technically the two coincide. RUclips claims mass reporting doesn't auto ban, but if it does get them to review it, the reviewer could hit the ban hammer. In MxR situation, if a reviewer has an issue with the channel and is targeting them, well that still isn't auto banning from mass reports.

And even now, he shoehorns in a half-assed apology at the end of a larger video, dodging blame and downplaying his contribution to Taiga's harassment. "The mass reporting isnt because of me, I had nothing to do with Taiga's deplatforming" LIKE YES YOU DID ON SOME LEVEL. Does he seriously think that calling someone a predator to the world would carry ZERO consequences??? That his influence didn't at least play SOME part in Taiga's life now being ruined?? Even if by SOME stretch of miracle that the mass reporting wasn't at least partly because of his statements, he still very heavily contributed to an online culture where Taiga is blacklisted from the Vtuber community, getting no support from anyone, completely isolating him which makes him MORE vulnerable to stalkers Like jesus christ, OWN UP TO IT. He's only saying sorry for what he said, not at all about the damage he caused BECAUSE of those statements. So everyone who saw what Nux was saying about Taiga on his main channel could have possibly not have seen what he said on the ordinary podcast. Not to say that no one from his main or secondary channel saw this, it's just more likely only a portion from his channels saw it.

Honestly, I don't want a public apology. At best, it shows the person is willing to humble themselves. What would be even better is if they humbled themselves by actually getting into contact with the party they hurt, apologizing to them privately, and start making changes in their behavior.
If Nux just tweeted "I'm talking with Taiga about the situation", apologized to him (over email if he's too ashamed to call), and made an effort to do better moving forward, that'd be fantastic.
