  • Over 2 miles long, Deer Run is the longest trail at Belleayre Mountain. It uses the entire 1400' vertical of the mountain, starting at the top of the gondola and traveling down to the Discovery Lodge base area. It offers breathtaking views of the Catskill Park, gentle gradients, and steep cliffs on the side of the trail. There are two sections of this trail - the upper section, rated as a blue square, and the lower section, rated as a green circle. One can lap the upper section by riding the Tomahawk Quad.

I noticed bellayre doesn't have any green runs from the top, however this looks manageable for a novice like me. Is deer run alot harder than the greens? I am thinking of going to bellayre.

Deer Run isn't too bad. There are a few short bits that are somewhat steep but they should be manageable if you have good control. Other than that, it is pretty gradual overall and has the best views on the mountain (in my opinion).

@@tchiker2381 Thanks if I go there I will check it out although I am leaning towards going to windham instead, they have more greens than bell. ,and Hunter.

MBTravel72 hey man, I got bellayre all the time. Trust me, you will be fine. There are some parts that are steep but right after these parts you have cat tracks for you to slow yourself down. You can practically go full speed down and the cat tracks give you just enough distance to come to a complete stop. You don’t need to parallel ski, you can even do a pizza down this run and you will be just fine. Hope this helps.

MB Travel, Deer Run is doable and a nice run, but I like Roaring Brook a little better. (It is another blue run on the opposite side at Belle).

@@furyfnm3329 Thanks, it looks like a beautiful run. I wasn't sure because go-pros never show the steepness of a mountain well🙂

Hey I know I’m not the creator but if it helps Deer Run was my first blue so a recommendation. The trail it’s self is not horribly steep but does have some short steep drops here and there so your welcome
