The magnet test works the opposite way, some stainless steels are non magnetic, so it's a way to test for some. Austenitic stainless steels are generally non-magnetic, while ferritic and martensitic stainless steels are magnetic.

Dam I missed a grab bag. I got a od green 29mm power bar black sleeves. Couple flaws but looks good. I would say that bar is a good deal. I want a bare steel Bar, but with a semi out side home gym, bare steel would rust on me.

Has anyone ever suggested a sawzall in the very middle of the tube? If you don’t try to go all the way down but just deep enough to go through the cardboard, then rotate the tube and repeat a few times then there’s no way to hit the shaft because it will be in the center of the tube space. Just a thought.
I legitimately use a serrated kitchen knife near the end of the tube. You can go too far, but the Rogue tubes are pretty thin so it's easy to cut through. (Other companies use much thicker cardboard.) I prolly wouldn't use a sawzall, way too easy to goof that up
Sorry, Rogue doesn't offer much besides the OPB in 29mm. There's the B&R bar, but that has dual ring marks. There's also the WestSide Power Bar, but that's black zinc.

I do still have them. I just haven't used them a ton b/c of my fixed DBs and the Fast Series. I need to get around to them.
Good deal. Even used can cost more then that for a nice bar. I like the simple bare steel/zinc sleeves. Prefer that to scuffed black coatings on bars.
