A issue I had was when I placed the door handle back in, it would not open the door and had no spring tension. If you look inside the door, where the handle inserts, there is a spring and a little plastic L piece that you can push and get behind the door handle bit. It’s hard to explain, but I had to take off my other door card and look at the assembly there.
We took out our door handle and tried to put it back in. 2013 BRZ. The outside door handle just stays out when you pull it. There is no tension to pull it back in. You have to push it back in. Do you know why?
When you have the door handle out, you should be able to stick your finger in and feel the actual lever that opens the door. If you pull on it l, it should pop the door open. I’m assuming the back of the door handle that is supposed to hook onto that is not sitting behind it.
