Glad to see you suggest to baste I like to do that also but I do a full baste stitch on each row with a bright thread I can see and easily pull out. It really helps keep everything in place. I had trouble floating my top and it was always getting stepped on and picking up stray thread and things from the floor and when I got to the end things were all a mess
Denise, I put three big laundry basket size tubs along the edge of the quilt frame and sit the backing, batting and quilt top in the tubs - that way I am not collecting junk from the floor. Also this women is taking about the basting, I also baste the sides of the quilt put always baste upward rather than towards the bottom and use spray starch if the sides are wongy.
Penny, I completely agree with seeing "an example." It's one thing to hear someone talk about the techniques, but it is more helpful to see the procedure being demonstrated.
