Does oil really shoot out of every struck well 500 feet in the air or is that just on tv? If so is there any way to recover or capture all that oil before the pressure stops blowing it all over so it can be used? Strange Q. but I've always wondered....what WOULD happen if you tried to use raw oil straight from the ground in or for anything? Would it clog or blow up your furnace or vehicle in seconds, or is that another myth?
With Mud in the well it keeps gas and oil under control , I have drilled oil wells that free flow oil be coming right out the well , reason you seen oil blowing into the air was the old old days they did not have or use well control , they just beat down pipes with a hammer rig . and it blow . free flowing wells trucks would come out sipion off the oil from the reserve pit, and pits that hold the mud . circulating pits . after cementing in casing the free flow stop till the finish crew fracked the well.
Doesn't always shoot up. Those that do are called Gushers. You could use crude oil for anything if the engines were modified for it. However that isn't gonna happen as more money is made from fractional distillation.
