- This film picks up where #05 left off. Early Spring on the Rio Grande between Provo and Helper, Utah. Later on, Harris is at Heber Valley to film a Heber Creeper double header with Steam locomotives #'s 36 and 100. He ends back with the RGZ.
Another good one with Rio Grande getting top billing. Thanks Lee!
A beautiful set of evening shots with that sunset lighting and reflecting off the stainless steel! Thank you, as always, for publishing these!
Yes, I thought that was quite striking. And You're welcom.
Lee 36 is owned by Oregon coast scenic currently. Love to see her back in service like railfair 1897 or even PSRM
Hello Lee, hope you’re keeping well. That steam engine double header was quite a joy to see! So far 2023 has been mostly well, though some hardships unfortunately have happened to other folks and I certainly hope you’re still well as of now.
I'm doing ok so far this year. Yes, so much sad news we have to deal with as a nation. Weather wise it Was one degree this morning in Ogden/Salt Lake area and only a high of 19. Brrrrrrr! Should warm up later this week.
@LeeWitten Glad you’re well. It’s been mostly cold and rainy over in East TN, though some snow here and there. I expect Spring to still be cold since East Tennessee’s weather is normally all over the place. 19 degrees huh? Cold indeed. We had nights where it was around 3 degrees or lower.
In the meantime, I’m still keeping up with Harris’ films and other train content I enjoy. I’m also turning 20 this year in July, which to think I’m almost 2 decades old is crazy to me. I’m gettin old haha.
@@AlikStansberry Oh for the days when I thought 20 was old!
@LeeWitten A good laugh for the both of us! Thanks again sir.
I am curious to know if there is any footage made on what is now known as the Rio Grande Trail between Roy and working it's way to Salt Lake
Harris never filmed in that area. I remember seeing a film by a local guy a number of years ago but he's never released them to the public. I think he's dead now. I don't know what happened to his collection, it was quite large. I wish I could remember his name.
I think it was filmed in Spring 1982, if Harris Live Sound Film 07 still has the Rio Grande Zephyr
I'm not sue when this one was filmed. 5771 still has the pre-collision pilot. I think this is probably 1980. Then again I my be wrong with the date of the collision but 2 sources I checked with said it was 1980.
@@jeffpierce725 Maybe Harris Live Sound Film 01 was around Late 1978 and early 1979, Live Sound Film 02 in December 1979, Live Sound Film 03 in 1980, Live Sound Film 04 in Winter 1980, Live Sound Film 05 from Winter 1980 to Spring 1981, and maybe Live Sound Film 06 in Spring 1981.
I could also be wrong
@@asherpate8 That could be. At this point my guess is as good as yours. It's too bad he did not provide a little more detail in his notes.
@@jeffpierce725 I see
Hope one day Sierra 36 is restored to operation
