It was on a record I had as a kid. I think the name of the record was "Yankee Doodle Mickey," and it featured patriotic songs sung by Disney characters.
I love the admirals' reaction to everyone saying goodnight to him. "Yes, yes, goodnight you troublemakers, you'll all pay for this later but it's too late now, I'm going back to bed."

@John C. Haines the thing that pisses me off more than anything is the whole "gender" shit, like "what is a woman" like bro you can't fucking be a cisgender male and then just fuckin wake up one day and be like "ok I'm a woman on Sundays and Mondays, male on Thursday, and " prefer not to say" on Wednesday and Friday and Saturday then magically a woman on Tuesday
@John C. Haines I'm sorry to hear that btw but what he did was good for this place but nowadays I feel like the military are frustrated for fighting for how messed up the country is now
Really? Guess who came up with the first mandatory vaccination: George Washington, to prevent smallpox. You're welcome for your good health, provided by your forefathers.
Johnny Tremain really isn’t a very educational novel. It’s set in the lead up to the Revolution, sure, but all it really tells people is that the Sons of Liberty met in secret and planned things and that the Battles of Lexington and Concord happened. Most American kids of any generation know that by the time they hit fifth grade.
I remember seeing this movie in elementary school, and definitely recall the catchy tune. But this film says a lot more about what people in the 1950s thought of the American Revolution than any kind of accurate portrayal of that period in history.
Exactly what part of this was historically inaccurate? It must admitted that there were none of todays sociopathic weazels in so-called 'reality' flims of the period. Of course the moral fiber of the country was much stronger then than.
For one thing they were not protesting the British raising the taxes on tea; they were protesting them LOWERING IT. A half dozen Massachusetts businessmen were getting rich smuggling tea & undercutting the competition. Lowering the tax would make them less competitive. So they gave a bunch of local thugs some alcohol & money to dump the King’s tea in Boston Harbor. All in the name of “freedom”. Our schools teach propaganda, not history.
@@BOORAGG I enjoy the film very much but it is inaccurate. There were three ships not one. None of the bigger leaders were there (i. e. Sam Adams, etc), they were at another location for what we would call Plausible Deniability. Not all of them were dressed as “Indians”, there was a good sized crowd watching from the dock, it took I believe about three hours, whole chests, once axed open were thrown in the water not bags, the tea was cakes not leaf tea as you would use to brew. As I said, however none of that really matters to me, I like this production very much.
Walt Disney himself was patriotic and his love for the United States was well shown in these movies. The fact is this movie came out in 1957 and Walt was a producer for this film. This film was very good and from it - the strong sense of patriotism especially with this scene. Walt Disney was one hell of a patriot.
He also tried to enlist during World War I when he was a teenager but was rejected because of his age so he joined the Red Cross Ambulance Corps instead.
I watched this in history class in 1996, never saw it or heard it since, and this song all of a sudden popped into my head today. I sang it and searched fir it and the refrain was exactly how I sang it note for note! What the hell! That’s a catchy song that I heard it once and remembered it 24 years later!
I watched this in either high school or middle school years ago. I still sing along when I hear it in the background music of Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom.
Me too! And it just kept coming back to me thinking about the time I first saw this movie in 5th grade and I loved it but couldn't remember what movie it was. I'm glad I found it!!
Our history teacher had us watch this back in 8th grade and a year later I went to Disney World and I heard this song in Liberty Square because it's on the area loop and I sung it and my parents are like "what is this and why do you know what this is" lmaoooo
I accidentally was singing this out loud bc it's such a nice catchy song and my sister was staring at me *"history is my favorite class leave me alone"*
I saw parts of this movie in 7th grade Social Studies (This year) and it became stuck in my head. So why not listen to it? It bothered me that some of the words stuck in my head were murmurs because I didn't know all of the words. :P

Anybody remember watching thys and getting it stuck in your head all day, singing along with your elementary classmates, I finally found it, after years
One of Disney's most underrated movies. It deserves a theatrical re-release.
It does and I agree, tho Disney NOW will likely fuck it up and create major inaccuracies
Yeah, but the current Disney Corp would have to make it super liberal.
The remake would be filled with Lesbian witches and pedophiles! Disney has forgotten how to make family entertainment!!
I can’t believe Disney Plus doesn’t have this movie available. I want to watch it again!!!
They don't want folks to love America
Doesn't advance their narrative. It might remind some Americans of what we're about.
Hahaha, those queer steers hate the USA. From a drafted, disabled, and Republic of Vietnam combat veteran '68.
They do in black and white under the liberty story I've watched it a million times
@@El_Jackalope I was thinking the same. Wouldn't be surprised if they burned all the truly American films Walt presided over.
I heard this song just once when watching the film in 1957. I still remember the tune and the chorus accurately after 64 years.
Same here, the song has randomly popped into my head throughout the last 65 years. I also had the plastic Liberty Tree token coin from a cereal box.
My mother has been listening for 61 years and tonight I have heard it for the first time and I am honored by it - This is a true masterpiece
...same here, my friend!!!
I remember it too!
