  • After a recent delivery to Liverpool, I headed along the Dock Road to see some of the landmarks. They include Everton FC new stadium, Bascule bridge and Tobacco warehouse. I also take a look at what at first appears to be an unfinished cycle lane, but in reality HGV parking is paramount to the businesses along the road.

Correct me if I am wrong but the first set of traffic lights were not due to width restriction under the bridge but to allow the non-existent cyclists to pedal under the bridge and not use the narrow pathway? 2 things - utter crap and secondly: we have had the technology for 20 plus years for intelligent traffic lights to stay on green until traffic approaches the other set

When the new stadium empties, its going to be hard work for the crowd

I've been saying this all along! 53000 people trying to get away from there at the same time is going to take time I think. I'm also sceptical about how the crowd is going to get down the 2 sides to get to the 3 stands nearest the water. They'll do test events so hopefully they'll work all that out.
