Thank you for all the information you provided. In my opinion I would like SG to make it easier to gear units. It will help with getting new players into RTA and harder PvE content.
So true! Although, it sounds like they're adding that RTA mode where you can just draft "pre-maxed" units that SG has geared already so you no longer need to build your own? I wonder if it will be popular...
That is quite a way to look at it. I would be less strict if the subs are good tho, or stop if it rolls into a mix of stats that not many units can make use of. Helpful
Yeah, I originally used to do that... like thinking to myself, "this rolled well but who would even use this piece?" but E7 keeps releasing odd units, like, Green Lilias on torrent with no crit chance or AYufine who wants life steal with high def or Lermia who wants destruction set with high defense. At this point I just said, meh, and just go for highest geasrscore. Who knows, E7 will come out with a unit who suddenly wants High Eff Res on Destruction or something haha.
You're welcome! Thanks for such a nice comment! I'm actually gonna post an updated guide today or tomorrow that clears a few things up. I hope you check it out!
Although I still like to analise substats, this video actually helped me to loosen a little about lower gear score and trying to focus on better gear overall. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
I actually enjoy gear rolling vids; it’s interesting to me to see someone’s thought process and their thresholds for their gear and when they decide to keep a piece or trash it.. maybe something about my ocd that is into it 🤷♂️ Who cares what the haters say about ur process (I even thought it slightly when u rolled some boots that was DEF% main and u got like +17% ATK rolled on them, and took me like 2 seconds to realize that A.Yufine would work with those boots).. so yea if u have enough units, there’s bound to be some unit that can make do with such substat combos
Haha, thanks so much for the kind words! I used to be really picky about making sure stats matched up but since E7 keeps releasing odd units, like, Green Lilias on torrent with no crit chance or AYufine who wants life steal with high def or Lermia who wants destruction set with high defense, stuff like this, I just decided to try to simplify around max gearscore, who knows what type of char is coming haha.
Ngl ive been doing this for a few months lol. As a casual, i dont care much so long as it kinda makes sense and its good rolls. I just want masters and im good
Thank you! I agree. I'm not trying to hit legend or anything, just want a system that allows me to quickly upgrade gear without putting too much thought into it.
I like optimizing random things and distracting my mind by having a loose guide to follow, this was very informative and realistic for newer accounts and people who didn't make good choices in their e7 time. It's efficient and someone can always use a piece of gear even if it doesn't have the best in slot stats. Enjoyed your guide, looking forward to seeing more!
All of other gear rolling guide yours is the best and easiest to understand and absolute mandatory for E7 players. As someone who ran out of inventory space all the time now i know which gear i should keep rolling and which to pulverize into powder
This is such a nice and kind comment, thank you so much, Kadse! I think mine is more for casual players, the other guides out there are kind of hardcore.
Sorry to ask on the older vid, but this is by far the easiest gear enhancing guide that I can find. Deity already made a vid about gear for beginners but it was complicated for me to do speedcheck and everything for now. I dont like cleave team comp anyway as long as I have 200+ speed then it is good enough for my current account state. My question is is there like a max equipment score value for each roll? I understand that you try to at least get 10 equipment score for each of five rolls with a total of 50 plus 30 initial score to get to comfort threshold of 80 at the end or at least 79/78 for both side. But for my case, I kept purple and red gear with 24 equipment score as the lowest threshold based on Tristanwulf, he said that for those who play like less than 6 month or so, 24 equipment score is good enough because we still lack gear. Therefore, by going with your rules then 24+5(10) = 74 only. I saw that sometimes you got more than 10 score for a roll but im not sure if like it is possible to start with 24 score and try to shoot for 79 for right side and 78 for left side.
Hey Zex! Thank you for the compliment. My guide is probably not the way to get the best equipment possible if you're trying to become legend RTA or something... my guide is meant for players who just want to get decent gear without needing to put a lot of effort into it. The goal with my system is to get as many 100+ GS pieces with as little effort as possible and, in theory, you should be able to build some pretty strong units from that gear eventually. You have an excellent question. You're right, there's kind of a range up there, like, on flat substats I think even a max roll is only an 8, which is why rolling into flats with my system is a huge bummer. Stuff like a 5 speed roll is a 12 I think, also, the 5th roll in a piece (last roll) is always a bit higher than others... The "10" GS per roll probably averages around 85% of a max roll in most cases, so it's very possible to get super lucky on a 24 piece and end up with a 79! The thing is, charms are a huge bottleneck late game so making attempts on getting lucky like this ends up being a waste. Personally I feel like 24 seems really low... that works if you're being very picky about subtat synergy and main stat. With my system, since I don't care about subs as much and I only care about gear score, I'd probably start at 27 (26 for right side). If you haven't already, you should check out my Boots video, ruclips.net/video/wpWMaz4L4zQ/видео.html This is my latest one on the topic and I try to summarize things a bit more neatly here.
@@gamesuspectamy Thanks a lot for the claarification. I dont care about substat too as long as the gear can be consider decent enough to put on my unit. There are a few niche character build like AYufine that need 2k def etc. So at the end of the day, pretty sure I will make use of them.

It has actually worked out strangely for me, because I paid no attention early on and felt that I had wasted a lot of charms and resources upgrading pieces. Health flat and health % for instance, no crit on pieces, defense flat/defense %. Had a bunch of those pieces lying around or equipped on characters that didn't benefit. When I actually started reading into characters though, and seeing what their skills scale off of, this paid off, as the health % speed and crit pieces I had for instance, went on Ice Choux, making her my best frontline Wyvern 13 character. Defense flat/% rolls paid off for my arena team, as LH Cermia scales off it entirely, and thus my LH cermia is a centerpiece in my arena comp. In mid-high challenger, she can out damage the opponent by as much as 2x. an example was a match from earlier, in which LH cermia did 244k and killed 4, while the other team's top damage was 102k. Speaking again to HP% and HP flat, New Moon Luna also scales off of HP, so it's come to the point where several of my most used characters at the moment scale off of HP and thus I am glad I saved those sets. Of course, the bread and butter will always be Crit %, crit damage, Speed, and attack %, but god rolls are not only difficult to come by, but also just don't fit the bill for everyone. I recommend looking through everyone you plan to use, seeing what they scale off of, and determining which items to roll on based on that, unless they are pure god roll. I still don't have a 300+ speed set or anything close, so my RTA and arena comp will never be legend. The best I can reach is 265, however, that's with purely speed focused rolls, and thus those characters end up with none of the other stats. @@gamesuspectamy Glad to bring a new perspective :) Something important that people might not consider out of the gate, but I still have adapted to your system partly as well, in fact as I watched your video I was rolling wyvern pieces and ended up getting a nice 102 score crit helm and 104 speed ring after reforge. haven't got anyone to equip for, but luckily with this new custom banner from earlier this evening, I pulled Bellona and SSB, which were two units I was sorely missing for much of what I needed to do.

Don't have belian so can't use it there.
Extremely informative content, yesterday I had a huge crafting session with mats stocked up for MONTHS and I nit picked every roll and substat. That session took me SEVEN HOURS. I was EXHAUSTED to say the least, but I will try this on my next large crafting session because I no longer want a repeat of that stupendous process. Though may I ask, has this process of yours changed at all during the months that passed by when this video was first released? Im curious if you have developed an even more time efficent method. Cheers!
This, my friend, is 100% why I came up with this system. I have had a few of those and had migraines at the end lol. Now it's quick and painless... don't get me wrong, probably a bit less stronger gear and few wonky pieces sprinkled in but I think it's worth it. I'm not a crazy competitive RTA player anyways haha.
my system is similar to you. but instead i use minimum ES per breakpoint as threshold and use your projected target. say my target is 82 (left side): my thresholds are as follow: +3: 37 +6: 47 +9: 57 +12: 68 +15: 82 also i throw away if it cannot hit 95 ES after reforge (left side) however my right side is much more lenient than yours, it is 90 minimum for me (unless pure tank gear, it is 85 minimum). there for this is my right sides: +3: 32 +6: 42 +9: 52 +12: 63 +15: 77 and i throw away if it cannot reach 90 for powder refund
@@gamesuspectamy i do, because anything that shows that it won't reach 95 after reforge is just turn them into powder (some 82 only hit 94 es after reforge, you can check them before committing) also i forget to mention that i dont allow effectiveness and resist to go together with bruiser piece. for example: hp% atk% resist effectiveness. i wont even bother with this kind of piece. it is all over the place. the only way i would do both eff and res is when it is a support or debuffer piece (for someone like dk sharun or debuffer red politis)
@@flyingcheesecake3725 Whoa, this is amazing. I wish I had reforge mats for this, I have so many 85 pieces waiting around lol. i like your style though, because i have 680 out of 700 inventory slots full so maybe I need to just be ruthless like you and cut stuff down or reforge it! Also, your method is way better than mine because I have a 80 ES threshold for keeping, but I have some old pieces I reforged that barely make this cut. Those are truely terrible pieces of gear but I haven't taken the time to trim further. Now you motivated me!
what if you roll a gear and the equipment score is above 10 but it rolled into flat stat on the first would you keep it? nd also lets say it rolled in the 3rd time in the flat stat would you keeo going or would you throw it out.
So I don't think it's possible to get 10 on a flat stat. I think even at max rolls these come in at 7 or 8 gear score. This is why flat stats are so crummy.
Hero gears? You mean heroic? Like purple gear? Same threshold, to be honest very few purple gears meet my criteria. Maybe I'm a bit too strict. If you're a newer player, definitely lower the threshold to 27 for keeping a piece for upgrading and good quality purple gear will start falling into that bucket. At that starting GS, you want the upgraded piece to be over 77.
OMG what a coincidence! I literally just did a video about this because I was facing your issue exactly. ruclips.net/video/81cw9WiasuM/видео.htmlsi=hnREZHTsgDhtMBO_ Hopefully this helps clean some of that up! ;)
No, even with this process I have wayyyyyyy less boots than any other gear. The issue is if you farm rift and hunt, let's say you end up with 100 of each gear slot. For helms, armor, weapon, maybe 30 are rollable, the rest is trash For rings and necklaces, maybe 15 are rollable For boots, it's more like 5 are rollable and the rest are trash. So you need to go all in on crafting boots to make up for this gap. You can even see in the video I crafted a ton of boots and maybe kept a small fraction of them. Boots suck!
Haha, there's just nothing to spend it on... i always run out of charms wayyyyy before I get close to running out of gold. Also, because I'm so desperate for equipment upgrade materials, I always sell my gear instead of extract... What do you spend all your gold on? I wonder if I'm missing something, haha!
Gear score is gear score, right? Purple pieces are no different than a red piece with 1 less roll. By that nature, it's really hard for purple pieces to meet my gear score threshold, very very few make the cut. However, purple pieces are really good for speed rolling so the ones I keep aren't gear score related.
iiiii dont like it for me, i think there's a lot of opportunities to miss out on good potential gear because of your parameters, but it's really cool that you've made your own system that works for you.
Very true. My system is super strict and I miss out on those diamonds in the rough when a mid piece turns into a gem! I would definitely be less strict if Smilegate gave us more inventory space and charms! Thanks for watching!

@@gamesuspectamy Gonna start trying to work on rifts, missing a frontliner is not great atm though :/ may just have to keep boss farming. If the last 5 years or so that my account has existed proves anything, it's that eventually there will be a niche use for most gear. I have a near perfect injury set just waiting lmao. Don't have belian so can't use it there.
@@killercloud5768 Well i wish you a bunch of luck getting Belian soon! She's back in the meta thanks to ML Luna!
Injury is so good on Alencia too!
I'm not a crazy competitive RTA player anyways haha.
my system is similar to you. but instead i use minimum ES per breakpoint as threshold and use your projected target.
say my target is 82 (left side):
my thresholds are as follow:
+3: 37
+6: 47
+9: 57
+12: 68
+15: 82
also i throw away if it cannot hit 95 ES after reforge (left side)
however my right side is much more lenient than yours, it is 90 minimum for me (unless pure tank gear, it is 85 minimum). there for this is my right sides:
+3: 32
+6: 42
+9: 52
+12: 63
+15: 77
and i throw away if it cannot reach 90 for powder refund
Nice! I love how you factored in a difference at +15, I kept the same increments but there's definitely a jump there. Do you reforge everything?
@@gamesuspectamy i do, because anything that shows that it won't reach 95 after reforge is just turn them into powder (some 82 only hit 94 es after reforge, you can check them before committing)
also i forget to mention that i dont allow effectiveness and resist to go together with bruiser piece. for example: hp% atk% resist effectiveness. i wont even bother with this kind of piece. it is all over the place. the only way i would do both eff and res is when it is a support or debuffer piece (for someone like dk sharun or debuffer red politis)
@@gamesuspectamy glad to help to similar styled player :)
what if you roll a gear and the equipment score is above 10 but it rolled into flat stat on the first would you keep it? nd also lets say it rolled in the 3rd time in the flat stat would you keeo going or would you throw it out.
So I don't think it's possible to get 10 on a flat stat. I think even at max rolls these come in at 7 or 8 gear score. This is why flat stats are so crummy.
Whats your threshold regarding hero gears?
@@gamesuspectamy thank you for the guide.. happy playing
You have a crazy amount of gold I remember when I had that much. Since I started trying to get better in all areas my gold, charm and gear suck.
haha! That made me laugh. So true!
What do you spend your gold on? I can't seem to spend mine enough, I always run out of charms before I come close.
@@gamesuspectamy testing gear and pets
@@javaroforbes1865Ah, makes sense!
@@gamesuspectamy I’ll probably have to not test gear for a long time. Although I don’t see how that’s possible when I need gear so badly.
@@javaroforbes1865haha, you and me both, my friend!
what should I do with the trash upgraded gears?
I see in the video sometimes u sell, and sometimes u extract
Extract boots, sell anything that's not boots!
@@gamesuspectamy thanks mate
As a hoarder, I love your cutthroat attitude to gear score. How do declutter your +15 85 88 and 90 gear? My 700 slots are full of them.
OMG what a coincidence! I literally just did a video about this because I was facing your issue exactly.
ruclips.net/video/81cw9WiasuM/видео.htmlsi=hnREZHTsgDhtMBO_
Hopefully this helps clean some of that up! ;)
Rolling a flat stat boot?
Gearscore, baby! 😁
Doesn't this process give you way more boots than any other gear type
No, even with this process I have wayyyyyyy less boots than any other gear.
The issue is if you farm rift and hunt, let's say you end up with 100 of each gear slot.
For helms, armor, weapon, maybe 30 are rollable, the rest is trash
For rings and necklaces, maybe 15 are rollable
For boots, it's more like 5 are rollable and the rest are trash. So you need to go all in on crafting boots to make up for this gap.
You can even see in the video I crafted a ton of boots and maybe kept a small fraction of them. Boots suck!
@@gamesuspectamy oh you are right. Theres a bigger variance on boots because you mostly want speed, so they are more likely to be bad.
How did you collect all that gold ????
Haha, there's just nothing to spend it on... i always run out of charms wayyyyy before I get close to running out of gold. Also, because I'm so desperate for equipment upgrade materials, I always sell my gear instead of extract...
What do you spend all your gold on? I wonder if I'm missing something, haha!
Nothing much , trying upgrading new gears in hoping of getting 20 to 17 speed in them
@@princesharming8693Ah yes! Speed checks! Good point, I feel like I'm not doing this as much as I should...
So you dont keep purple gear. Or do you have a threshold for purple gear to see if they roll a good 4th substat.
@@gamesuspectamy OK cool. Thanks for the info. Your videos have been super helpful.
@@prophecy4785 Thanks for such kind words! You, my friend, rock!
iiiii dont like it for me, i think there's a lot of opportunities to miss out on good potential gear because of your parameters, but it's really cool that you've made your own system that works for you.
Very true. My system is super strict and I miss out on those diamonds in the rough when a mid piece turns into a gem! I would definitely be less strict if Smilegate gave us more inventory space and charms!
Thanks for watching!
can you also post the fukll 30 min sesh thnks
