i see you live in the south. The tell is the pines and undergrowth. FYI-Plants that produce food for bees are tax deductible as cattle feed. Fight dearth with clematis (repeat bloomers), honeysuckle, orange trumpet vine, hemorocallis(Daylily), Mexican Heather, and other repeat bloomers. You get a nice garden as well but only if you have a business liscense for the bees.
I like this idea of open feeding. I experimented with open feeding last year using 5 gallon buckets, and although it worked, overall I felt there was a better way. This way looks easier to manage. The 5 gallon buckets get messy and heavy. Ive also considered trying the container method with a drum and laying hay/straw on the surface to help the bees not drown, but I think experimenting on a smaller scale might be a better plan. The wire mesh accordion idea makes sense, but Ill probably still add some hay/straw just for a bit more insurance. Thanks for the video. Well done. Is that the Dirt Rooster shooting the video??? That's one bad ass dude in the Bee World. Thanks again!
Man I would love to be down there hanging out having all that fun in the sun,Im in Michigan ,minus 20 degrees freezing my rump off....Yall pray for me.
Please explain to me why you would add that music- and at such a high volume. I regret that I can only give one thumbs down. This could have been a good video.

Cool video. Beautiful area. You sure were right about the bees coming to feed!

If I'm not mistaken - I heard the dirt rooster's voice back when talking about the additive. Or I'm hearing things - which is OK also.
Thanks. The hardware cloth is a good idea.
What size holes in jar lid?
Very informative - thanks. (and I liked the music.) (and Lowes owes you man!)
