    I'm curious as well as extremely new to diesel engines in general but have experience with gas engines as well as 21 years of working on or doing wheelies or both of those. I'm familiar with boost and its capabilities to produce big power by forcing exaust gasses into the top of the engine just slamming air into that pump that is the engine . These numbers for their P S.I. is incredible and feels like a roll of the dice as far as if it'll contain all that pressure and can evacuate it as quickly as it's being force fed it. It now makes sense to why some pulling trucks actually send their entire bottom end hurling through space like it's a toy. Crank still spinning and oil is pumping up through it. Pistons just rocking away with nowhere and nothing to slide agaisnt and compress a mixture of air, spark and fuel of choice. What did the guy at the 3:10 minute mark do that causes it to roll coal and jump like a clutch engaged or something when he tapped a thing on the side windlw pillar. It was a buutton I guess? I dont think it was anything to do with the dyno either. What'd he do there as these things are beasts of a different breed in every sense of the phrase

    These are some bad azz trucks but they might as well be pro mods of diesel trucks. There's nothing truck about them other than their body shell. Why do you dyno in two wheel drive when you race them in four wheel drive. I'm not hating just wanting to know why. Plus I see a lot of trucks that don't run the same back tire when they're racing. I know you can make a lot more power on a dyno with a shorter tire.

    • @YoitsDjohn
      @YoitsDjohn 2 года назад

      Dyno is to measure peak hp & tq. If they all dyno'd in 4x4 they would not be able to achieve the peak performance the truck is capable of.

    Cracks me up , they are worried about fire we're not worried about the hundreds of plus pounds of shrap metal flying out and killing somebody. I don't see dyno call outs going on much longer unless you take serious safety measures. Especially some place like Indy. Plus I've seen other videos of the same truck from the spectator side and something like a piston landed about 15 ft away from them. They're up in the nosebleed section at least 300 ft away plus. I honestly don't think people understand how much kinetic energy is in a diesel motor even stock. They don't use spark plugs for a reason . If that was The Summer Nationals in Indy that truck would've killed somebody. I thought the dyno was for for tuning, now they're just for bragging rights.

    • @claytoncoolidge992
      @claytoncoolidge992 3 года назад

      Since when has a dyno not been for bragging rights? Thats exactly what they are for. Ya a tuning is a side effect of the bragging as the tuning is to get the biggest numbers possible but most people aren't paying for dyno time to tune its straight up bragging rights

      @@BUILTDIESELMAFIA Thanks for getting this video out to those of us who couldn't be there. We appreciate it. Feel bad for Josh. He worked really hard to get that thing ready. Didn't he make 1960 HP before he left for UCC? Due to his problems, and Todd blowing up the Godfather again, I wonder if there is that big of a difference in their elevation and location compared to the UCC location as far as tuning issues? Both of those guys had things running on the PDD dyno. Interesting. I wonder what changes. Any thoughts?
