That last vlov combo at the end was so sick
If I end up not liking Shiki for whatever reason, I may go for these two.
I love rushdown characters and Vlov just looks straight up savage.
Also, the music here is brutal. Raito killed it with this one.
I might pick up shiki but only because they kinda mixed him with Nanaya who is my actual main but I've been mostly wanting to play vlov
So the last match up after this would be Kouma vs Red Arcueid? So far, there is no match up demonstration that involves using the Last Arc. Also, this match proves that Vlov would began to use his true power when he lost one round. The flame he uses are turn out to be the manifestation of the heat he absorbed through freezing.
the last arcs most likely contain spoilers. in the vlov news page in japan, they said his last arc is a direct reference to something he does in the remake, so they probably don't want to show most of them
Then what about Kouma 's Last Arc? Does it spoil the story in Tsukihime?
@@irfanrosli7588 the only last arc shown so far is the akiha one. they are saving some of the mechanics for when people actually get the game, but blood heat and last arc are confirmed in it

This was posted while I was sleeping. But now I'm awake and first thing in the morning is watch Melty Blood.
0:13 love their height difference
0:18 the ost is already sick as hell.
0:20 again she tries to close distance while Vlov runs away.
0:22 it's not like she can do anything safe from that distance since her normals are pretty short, so she has to rely on any opening between his moves so she can make her way in.
0:23 she jumps in with no aerial so Vlov takes his turn.
0:24 That's Vlov's move that I don't understand.
0:26 the moon drive is to help her to get in by seeing what they're doing so she can make her move, and as she saw Vlov throwing a move, she thought that she could whiff punish it with her lariat, but he can whiff cancel? Or is that a single move? Anyway, she gets hit and sent fullscreen. Maybe Vlov could've converted that into a combo but didn't do it, but he has good neutral so he can work well with that.
0:28 that's a very good jump from Miyako, unfortunately, Vlov put himself in a position where he can punish these sorts of options. Maybe she shouldn't have talked such a commitment and waited for the opening, rather than throwing herself if. She gets countered, comboed then put in knockdown.
0:34 so she has a reversal, but it didn't said it was invincible on the side, maybe that's only for when it is invincible frame one, so that move might have invincibility on other frames. She gets to jump cancel it and get knockdown.
0:37 that's an overhead that hits from pretty far. She doesn't get to combo out of it but she gets an OTG follow up. Also, the combo counter went dark, maybe that's what happens on otg. After that she almost got what it looks like it should've been a meaty, but Vlov wakes up moon drive, uses a move that clashes with Miyako's, then it continues and gets a combo.
0:46 tried the double overhead, but the gap between the two gave Miyako enough time to Heat while not in blockstun. For what I've seen, Heating out if blockstun has a lot of startup, meaning that they have time to shield it, but she used while not in blockstun, so it came out almost immediately.
0:48 again, she needs to be very patient with her approaches not to get stuffed by his big normals or fireballs. She blocks the double it fireball then she closes distance with the lariat, but because that fireball almost no recovery (when used with moon meter) she doesn't get to punish him, instead he blocks and take his turn. Maybe she could've shielded or reversal to not be put in pressure, but it's too risky.
0:52 welp, that's very strong. With moon meter, he gets to use the power wave but it sends her *nearly full screen*. And that also did a lot of chip. He catches her jump with the double fireball than tries to mess her approach with another fireball, but she dashes into shield. That seems quite strong as if she goes for the follow up she gets free moon meter, and if she doesn't, I believe she's still plus, I have to remember in doing that when I get to play the game. The risk is that if you don't react and do it preemptively, you leave yourself wide open to get punished by a delayed normal or fireball, so be careful.
0:55 She goes for the cross-up follow up, hits but doesn't get anything out of it without fatal counter, but at least she gets to start pressure, but she tried to read a jump and didn't worked, so she tried to make her way back by air dashing and falling with the fast aerial that covers both sides so she doesn't have to worry about crossing up and missing the aerial, she misses but Vlov also does because she crossed him up. She isn't able to punish him because he recovered quick enough to jump away. She tries to chase him by running underneath and maybe make him whiff an aerial due to a cross under and maybe punish. But she stops running, maybe trying to react to what he was doing, but doing that up close is a risk because from that distance he's going to use an aerial that's to fast for her to react and maybe shield on reaction, so it seems that it would've been better to keep running and cross under. Instead she gets hit and takes a 40% combo. Does characters have different defensive values in Melty Blood and she has a low one or was that just Vlov's damage?
1:06 he runs up to pressure her, seems better than charge meter and keep full screen away like he did in the previous vid, since she's so fast she gets to close up distance so quickly, so that's a matchup thing. Also next hit she dies so one mixup into combo and he wins the round. He went for a slow overhead and Miyako either fuzzy jumped or jumped on reaction. She punishes the whiffed attempt with a falling aerial and comboed him all the way to the other corner.
1:15 he probably tried to tech a tick throw here but countered her by accident. She would've beat that if she just frame trapped him, I don't know why she waited for so long to the point she would've get thrown of her pressure, maybe she was waiting for a shield? But that was a counter so she preemptively did something. I don't know at this point. She got thrown and that's it.
1:18 Moon drive on wakeup into shield just beats a whole bunch of stuff. But I didn't knew you could cancel a normal that has been shielded into a shield yourself. Maybe that won't work if the shield follow up is too fast that it comes out before the shield is active, and I don't think shield comes out at frame one, so if that's right, them the dash follow up from shield ha a bit if startup into it, so just gets stuffed, a button out of it should be faster to beat that. He didn't went for the shield follow up though and I don't know why, I believe he could've just punished her, rather he tries to catch her with an upwards projectile, maybe tried to read a dash in since that thing has little horizontal range.
1:20 she keeps dashing and not doing anything, is she trying to bait something everytime? Her fast buttons would hit and get her in advantage, but she rathers to jump away and Vlov tries to mess her up with his big normal that seemed to have quite the recovery but Miyako didn't reacted to it fast enough so she just jumps away.
1:22 dash block the fireball, Vlov tries to stuff her approach with a falling aerial but he did it too close to the ground so he landed before the move came out and that just let Miyako get her way in for free.
1:23 so that lariat is plus if she uses moon meter, I'm sure that's the case but it could also be that Vlov's buttons are slow so she got to hit him before they came out, but I'm sure that that's plus. She combos and gets the round.

1:58 both jumped, Miyako probably trying to avoid a second fireball and Vlov to go above her if she tried to run in so he would've escaped. Both face-to-face but Miyako reacted faster to the situation and went for her aerial that gave her a combo but she didn't went for knockdown for some reason. She hoped that she would've gotten the extra damage an still be able to catch him. It still would've been better if she just went for the air throw.
2:04 she went for the ground pound as he landed hoping it would hit him while in the corner and moon drives to confirm the situation. The situation being that it didn't hit and he was jumping over her, so she went for the DP but Vlov messed it up making her DP the wrong way as he dashed into the corner, so he was too far to punish it ir at least take his turn.
2:06 that was one hell of a fast jump and one hell of a read on his jump. She gets a knockdown and now Vlov's stuck in the corner.
2:09 a very fast overhead into the command grab, and she gets a fuzzy combo out of it, that's sick looking.
2:14 Imagine if she could cross under while you're in the corner so now you have to deal with a crossup, same side, high, low or command grab mixup. That would be sick but hell to block.
2:16 goes for an IAD and gets heated away.
2:18 goes for the reverse beat, leaving him in a position where Miyako's moves will whiff (except for the lariat) and he can whiff punish it with his big buttons. But Miyako is patient and doesn't do anything for Vlov to whiff punish, so she jumped avoiding more pressure and he jumped to return to neutral.
2:21 he gets to launch two fireballs and confirm it into arc drive? That's hella strong. Can he just cancel the fireball no matter what into another one? But I assume it dies leave him wide open if they jump all of them so there's some risk. Although we've seen that the fireball had little recovery, using two increases the total duration, so there's more time for them to hit you.
2:25 again, ignores pressure so he can charge and zone. And that power wave was pretty fast if they tried to dash at him while he was charging, but if they jump, you gotta go for the hard job of pinpointing where they'll land and chase them,nor go for another projectile but if they jump is the same thing again, and you just lost a bunch of moon meter so you can't just do stuff and cancel into moon drive to extend pressure or to keep you safe, so that looked like a loss, even more because even if it hit he had nothing to confirm, no magic circuit meter for EXs (although he was building meter, it's a very small amount), no moon meter for moon drive. On the positive note, if it hit he would send her away giving him more time to charge or to zone, so that's fine I guess.
2:27 same thing as 1:58, sadly she missed her confirm and didn't catched him, instead she got countered and lost the round.
2:38 sick ost.
2:43 same thing, she tries to close distance while Vlov jumps away.
2:46 these are very good jumps from Miyako, very fast, very far, dodges the fireball and almost caught Vlov's jump afterwards, but her normals are stubby so she didn't reached neither in the air, nor the ground.
2:48 and that's the risk of throwing fireballs from mid-close range, if they jump over it it's over. He gets full on comboed by Miyako, that looked sick.
2:54 alright that's sick. She throws him out of the corner, and from here she gets so many mixups, like IAD cross-up into the aerial that hits both sides, same side overhead or low, command throw, but the main thing here is the cross-up move that would have give her a full corner combo, but Vlov had time to shield it so that sucks. Maybe here she can condition them enough with shield baits, command grabs etc. so they stop shielding, so when they're afraid of using shield because they got punished so much, *then* you can go for the crossup move. Instead she gets punished then put in the corner.
2:59 oki with the projectile, and he uses Miyako's patient to IAD in so he can begin pressure.
3:03 so that's a very big gap, because of the range between the two you can't mash out of it because it won't reach neither shield because if what happened here, but I think if she delayed shield for the right timing, then maybe it would've worked? But there's more than enough time to jump out, so that's sort of a risky option from him because of that. But it worked so he gets a corner combo from it.
3:07 tries to do the same thing as before, but gets heated away.
3:10 dash and blocking, looking for the gap between the moves to make her way in, jumps over the projectile (again, it's really risky doing that at close range), but she neither punishes nor takes her turn.
3:13 tries to jump and catch him but he goes for the fireball and dashes away to keep the zoning going.
3:15 this time she was successful with the jump in and got the hit.
3:20 so she didn't side switched with the throw like she did before, rather she keeps corner, maybe she didn't wanted to try to read a shield or a moon drive and get corner comboed.
3:21 Was that her reversal? Did she reversal on *his* wakeup? I don't understand why but it worked and she got the combo.
3:26 I wonder what the counter play will be for wakeup moon drive into shield. Maybe you air dash in, they see you dashing through the moon drive and tries to shield an aerial, but you don't do anything and land with throw, or you do an aerial so late tha they'll see the startup animation but you'll land before it's active, so then you get to punish their shield, because that looks like a *really* strong wake up option. He gets the punish and puts her in the corner.
3:34 that reverse beat leave him far enough so Miyako's stubby normals won't reach and he'll get to whiff punish her, but the risk is that if you commit to the whiff punish she can air dash in through the gap and punish you, so you gotta be careful.
3:35 he finishes his string with the fireball, he shields and goes for the crossup follow up, but Vlov was waiting for it and then he anti-aired it. I don't think there's any shield follow ups that would reach that far so either she went for the crossup, that lead her to be punished because Vlov was waiting for it, or she just took the plus frames that I assume you have after shielding to do something else. If that crossup is not reactable and you have to be looking for it, then she also could've mixed it up with another follow up. Also, can't you cancel shield into specials if it's on moon drive? If that's the case, then if Miyako is on drive, after she shields from up close, she can cancel into her grounded crossup move (not the follow up that shield gives, her actual move) for another option they have to lookout for. Vlov does a very optimal combo by landing and burning all his meter so that he can get the kill. Vlov takes the game.
That set was cool, and that's the longest notation yet. I doubt that for sure no one's gonna read all the way through up to this.

@@fugax_vulpes1797 I believe that the move (3:21) you identified as a reversal from Miyako this time, is the same move you confused for a dash in the previous video. She dashes forward gaining the after image visual effect, then does a triple kick. (In the previous video you can see her leg stretched out to kick on the frame she gets hit, or the one before it.)

Preorder already proceeded on Switch. Sept 30 can't come soon enough. Already filed a vacation leave to play first day.
Big mistake. I bought three fighters on the Switch, and all three was dead within a month. Hell! One of them was dead on the first day of release. Remember all! Do not buy fighting games on the switch. It end up dead and the playerbase are 90% wireless warriors. It is not worth it for portability. Hear my warning!!

Vlov looks like a fucking pain to deal with. Those projectiles come out so fuckin fast, if you're not ready for all of them, you're getting blown up all day. If you're playing a Vlov on poor latency, good luck.

rushdown characters are so damn cool, especially when they just have the raw intent of beating your ass like this. SOMETIMES ITS SUFFERING BECAUSE OF STUBBY NORMALS, but miyako looks so fucking cool, gonna try her out or Red arc

Damn, I’m rewatching this over & over again; What was the catalyst for Vlov’s ice attacks? was it the round loss, or was it tht flashy input prior to him losing that first round?
Round loss. It's based on the fact his vampiric power is freezing, but he subconsciously avoids the dehumanizing feel of it as he still feels cold himself and doesn't want to give into bloodlust.
The flames are just a byproduct of good ole thermodynamics being converted into low cost pyrokinesis.

Was really happy to see Miyako and Vlov fighting on this stage. The music for it is one of the reasons I keep replaying Kouma & Red Arcuied's trailers. Got to jam to it in full while a loli earns a Dead Apostle's respect.
Also I love how Miyako airplane/Sonic/Naruto runs in her dash.
