    Shooting with big robotic motion control arms can be really expensive and not every job has the budget for high speed moco. Creating a simple 360 parallax table rig like this one is a cheap and low tech way to achieve robot orbit style shots without the robot.
    These shots were created in a series of phantom high speed food shots using the Rosco DMG Lumier Maxi switch LED panel. The purpose of the shoot was to show that the LED panel was flicker free at 1000 fps.

    Are these shots all for stock...? I am always curious who needs this much food stuff shot.

      Yes basically dual purpose for the shots. They were test shots to see if the lighting fixture was flicker free at 1000fps so we shot a series of generic food stuff that could be repurposed for stock also

    This rig is so cool! I wrote you an email about it! I’d like to make it for my studio. If you have any pointers on the build that would be super helpful! Let me know! 😊

      I must have missed that email i'll go look for it... There's a lot of ways to build a table like this. I've seen people do it with bike frames or standard film grip equipment etc. I think the most important thing besides having some sort of bearing assembly or way to rotate the camera around is to make sure your arm is sturdy enough and the base has enough weight so the table doesn't tip over or the arm break and drop your camera

      @@chrisvanderschaaf Hey Chris, that's exactly what I was wondering! The bearing is where I'm at a stand still. I'm trying to figure out how to mount a rotating bearing to the center pole... After that, I would build a double arm. One to hold the camera and the other on the opposite side to hold a backdrop, it would also serve as a counter weight! I've really been racking my brain on this...
      PS : If you are looking for the email, I sent it to your hello@chrisv.tv address from giuliano.miserendino@todomedia.ca.

    Where can I get 360 parallax table rig?

      @chrisvanderschaaf  3 года назад +3

      We custom built this one. I'm going to make a video on the parts needed to build it but as of now I don't know anyone who has them already pre built for sale

      @@chrisvanderschaaf You have a very efficient and excellent design! There is really only one company overseas that makes this table (motorized) and they sell it for $13,000. The Hollywood approved rigging companies charge at least $40-70K (because they immediately think about big profit margins). After assessing the parts required, including a $80-$130 2-bolt or 4-bolt flange ball-bearing housing and a $120 sprocket ball-bearing housing for an attached motor ($300-$600), plus the table, structural support members, and hardware accessories, the price does not equal anywhere near the asking price (assembly required, batteries not included ;-). Keep up the great work!
