love the updated looks of the old R-type bosses like Rios, Moritz and Green Inferno. I bet the devs had to add them in cos most of the base bosses look so lame
A bit late, but I can try to list a few off the top of my head given I primarily use the R-9A, in no particular order if you still need it or whoever else finds it: 1. Decide if you want to fight or flight. The maze does not loop indefinitely, and when all the POW Armors start dropping yellow crystals then it is the final loop until Laius stops. It is incredibly difficult to go through that many loops but it has distinct and repeating sections. Only thing that really changes, apart from the order the secondary attacks Laius uses from the beginning, is the position of the 5 way bolts given the timings per loop. Practice will make future runs easier over time. 2. Always have a charged shot ready when you get to the part where the bottom is a maze and the top lane has a POW Armor. The drones that are released down the tunnel are best dealt with by the cannon, though try not to release the shot too early. 3. I've had a lot of fun going through quarry as the Midnight Eye which has no ranged capabilities apart from the Force itself and the R-9E's basic shot. I have to rely on keeping the Force detached entirely to do any damage. Still not enough to actually defeat the boss before the end, but avoiding to rely entirely on the Force may help considering the only thing that the Force can deflect are the slow moving homing projectiles. 4. As long as the Force is attached to the front, it is a bit harder to crash by going head on against the electrified walls. Still possible to crash if you're not careful navigating around them, though. 5. If you're going towards a quick finish, try to gauge where to sink in fully charged shots. With the R-9A on Normal, Laius can only take 5 fully charged shots. The smoke emitted from the boss is a fairly sensible indicator of remaining HP. 6. After the first set of drones immediately go to the top lane and get the POW Armor. It is the only one I've seen drop a missile power up that may be slightly useful. I've personally never changed out the options, but I would imagine it can only be done on the hanger or museum. I'm sure there are other things in mind, if I remember I'll add to this later.
Laius:
Me, an only somewhat skilled R-Type player: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, _fuck_ that.
That design of Dobkeratops...Holy...
The infected one?

I do love the updated looks. Nice seeing them in 3D. I'll always have a fondness for their sprite counterparts
Hey buddy, what programme did you use to create your video's animated intro with? I really dig those 80's retro vibes.
I actually had a buddy do that for me. I think he used Aftereffects
@@MegaYoYo Thanks!
Impressive skills bro 😁😁😁
Thanks my man!
Dobkeratops just isn't the same without the tail wagging.
yea it's a classic design of his. I miss those tiny details lost in translation
lol, you didn't update the latest patch (1.08) on switch
cuz of 7.1 battleship laser shot position is change 😅
Hmm I though I did. This footage might be before the patch though. Hard to remember
Ghaaa, the boss at 20:00 is taking me ages to master. Any tips?
Use the wave master, use nothing but charge shots

Master the bosses, dude Im utterly trash at these games in gerneral I cant get past stage 2 on anything higher than normal
Missing that Fish Boss!!!
You know which one?
@@MegaYoYo I think it's 5.1 I just finish beating him. He makes clones of Rtypes and submarines.
6:27 Is that boss a poor imitation of the boss Fine Motion from R-Type Final 1?
hehehehehe, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa
What ship did you one shot the 2nd boss with? 👀
It was either R13A Hades or Leo 2
Whats the point of a boss showcase if one cant even see the bosses in action?
For them to get rocked
Gradius V much better than R type final 2 for gameplay soundtrack graphics r type is more way to hard to play
I never got into gradius. I always gravitated towards R-Type. Leo is my favorite for sure
