    One Piece teaches you to have hopes and dream big. So I will do exactly that. I hope One Piece succeeds and gains a following as large as that of Game of Thrones. I hope this live action project will make One Piece a household name worldwide. If it fails, fine. Nothing is to be lost from failure.

      One Piece already is a household name world wide. It outsells Batman now, which used to be the top seller in comics, graphic novels and manga combined.
      Now it's One Piece.
      DC even made an ode to One Piece in one of their latests issues to commemorate that moment where they surpassed even The Batman.

    Exactly what you said about Nami's presence on the show. The reason this Queen is my favorite from One Piece is her duality - She's fiery, bold, snarky, charismatic! then also she is compassionate, empathetic. I feel like I am the only one who is super skeptical about the personality Rudd will bring to her. My judgments are based off the acting clips passed around in other OP live action commentary videos, the actresses work from her past projects. The portrayals displayed of Those characters are, calm... such as 'tame'... for the Nami I love. I can see her as a follower and getting that emotional side of Nami correct, but that other side of her, for me, is Extremely 'make-or-break' . From the few clips I've seen her, Rudd doesn't seem like a person who can haggle the shit out of someone, fool someone with naughty charm, believably order a ship full of stubborn pirates to obey her commands. I don't get that aura of slight intimidation to Rudd. Nami IS the actual boss lady who commands the crew! They fall apart without her. Rudd's vibes appear to be very sweet. I saw a soft spoken, kind, and trusting lady in that netflix cast announcement video. So Okay, so what if she Isn't at all like the Nami I got to know the series? I pray Rudd will completely make this post look like shit, obliterate my doubts by absolutely dominating her role through making 'Netflix Nami' her own. I just want a convincing performance of a reliable, relevant, CORE crew member. I want to see her hold it down with her tough will while simultaneously playing cute and silly sometimes boss ass bitch. I pray they don't downgrade her character to be a pretty damsel on the sidelines who may aesthetically matches Nami, but with no presence of her character. I feel very strongly about this.

    I'm pretty open-minded about what they could do with One Piece as live action, but I swear to Eneru if they sabotage it with overly stupid decisions... I'mma leave a really negative review! Just like thousands, if not millions, of others! The backlash will not be pretty. I just hope if it's decent, people aren't too harsh on it just because it's not the anime.

    Adding that 'actually' makes it kind of diminutive...
    Anyone and everyone should've already been excited for the OP LA for years! and those that aren't should've already left at this point.
    Here's a piece of advice for those still not sure if they should support or hate on the OP LA;
    Just because something is created, does not mean you hàve to watch it.
    Éspecially if you're unsure of it in the first place.
    Here's a dumb and simplistic analogy that literally everyone can understand;
    There's a food challenge going on. Participation is a choice, not mandatory.
    You need to eat a certain food that you absolutely love! But it's a new recipe and they added something that always makes you barf, like raisins, or mango, or whatever tf you can think of that makes you puke, added to your favourite dish. It makes you puke just thinking about it. There's no prize, and it doesn't really cost you anything. It's purely for fun.
    So your choice is to join the challenge, eat the food anyway because you love the OG, and puke your guts out as a result.
    Or to not do that.
    But you do it anyway.
    And you puke your guts out.
    Now you're angry.
    Who do you direct that anger at?
    - At the chef? Who isn't to blame for your taste buds? (Director)
    - At the organisation that started the challenge? Who aren't to blame for your participation? (Studio)
    - at the other participants? Who aren't to blame for your weak stomach? (Cast & crew)
    - or at yourself? Who's literally to blame for this whole experience?

    Well First and Foremost, to succeed, it needs to appeal the non-one piece fans and make them love the characters b4 Reaching Baratie, Arong Park. I'm most worried about Comedy and Chemistry of the Crew. Especially Ussop. Yes One Piece Fans love the video, Loves Ussop. But Dont Forget, Ussop is the weakest link in East Blue Saga, be it his Character or His Arc is the Biggest Hurdle for the live action. Piror b4 Entering Grandline, Ussop isnt anyone fav Character or his Syrup Village Arc. If they make it through that, Baratie and Arlong Park would be piece of cake by then.

    Let's say it doesn't fucking suck as an adaptation, how could the live action could surpass the superior animated version? How can you justify watching this over the anime if you want someone to get into one piece unless they are really against the manga culture itself in which case idk why they are interested in OP in the first place.

    • @Ruffeep
      @Ruffeep 2 года назад +8

      Well, the East Blue saga in the live action is going to be ten episodes, one hour each.
      In the "superior" anime that same stuff is covered painfully slowly with almost 60 episodes. It takes twice as long to watch, and it feels slow.
      And I'm not saying that shorter automatically means better pacing, because the Episode of East Blue is like a few hours and it's way too fast paced to work. I believe that 10 hours is perfect for that saga.
      I can honestly say that I'm never rewatching East Blue saga in the anime, but the first ten episodes of the Live action will be way more easy to rewatch.
      It's the painfully slow anime vs a fast paced exciting season of television.

    • @slime_bird
      @slime_bird 2 года назад +1

      Adaptions aren't meant to be better than the source material, you can look to nearly any book that's been adapted into a movie to see that. Hell, the anime of One Piece can't even surpass the source material of the manga.
      It's just supposed to be a retelling of the story in a new medium.
      And as the other person here said, it's shorter. It's like suggesting Dragon Ball Kai to someone who doesn't want to watch all of Z, it's less of a commitment and if they end up enjoying it and want the full experience they can always go back.
      Plus, if it's given enough advertising and attention by Netflix on the lead-up to release (which if it's true they're putting a lot of money into it, they will) then it'll get the attention of the general public that likely haven't ever heard of One Piece and could bring in more fans.

    • @Hookborn
      @Hookborn 2 года назад

      Why not watch both? We could say that about the movies made based on lotr. How could they possibly surpass the books? Or if we made an anime based on lotr how could it possibly be better than the movies? If we say that one piece would be a live action from the start like say potc and then got an anime adaptation alot of hate and doubts would probably be the other way around. We fear that it will be different from the experience we had when we watched it the first time but truth is it is the same story. It will only be exoressed in a different medium. And solely because it is a different medium, it will always leave a sour taste in older fans mouths. Because their views will be colored by their previous experiences despite it maybe being a good retelling of the story

    • @neksnek2032
      @neksnek2032 2 года назад +2

      First off, the anime is kinda wack. It's not really a good adaptation, second, the live action isn't trying to "surpass" the anime, just be an alternative way for new fans to enjoy the series, seriously, try to keep an open mind

    • @kiyaleelevyrunaya9495
      @kiyaleelevyrunaya9495 2 года назад

      Wtf 🤦‍♂️ who says you gotta chose between the live action and the anime or the manga?
      What? You think the creation of the live action will snap the anime and manga out of existence?
      My God, man 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
      You could just choose to not watch it. To not follow news about it and to not pressure people into following your lead, because you believe only you are right.
      No one's forcing you to be here, to be an ass and make a spiteful comment like that for no reason, nor provocation. You made that choice all on your own. You chose to be a hateful follower. You follow, but you hate. Which, imo, is kind of sad and pathetic, but hey, your life, right?
      Now, let others make their own choices.

      Regardless of what happened in seasons 7-8, where they ruined everything, almost any fan would agree that seasons 1-4 were exceptional. An adaptation gives you a chance to take another look at the source material, elevate it in certain ways, and also reach a larger audience. Yes one aspect of this is money, but do you honestly think a creator of a 25 year running world and series wouldn't want to have as many people enjoy these characters as possible, for reasons other than greed, like passion and excitement to expand on his creative vision?
      Based on the episode 1 leaks, Oda seems to be taking the opportunity to reimagine the beginning of the narrative, and tell it in a more cohesive manner. I'm very excited for just about any adaptation of any source material that I care about, because it's always an opportunity to elevate that material both in terms of how it works and fits together, and also because it gives the thing that I love more popularity and enables me to enjoy it and talk about it with more people.

      @@holysecret2 because a book and a TV show are two inherently different mediums. TV has music, sound, visuals, etc. Books have more in depth characterization and leaves it up to the readers imagination. Anime and live action are pretty similar. There is nothing live action can do that can't be done in an anime. Sure, improvements can be made, but the anime that get live action adaptions are already incredibly well written and have few places to improve. I agree with you on the Japanese live actions because those are made by people who actually give a shit about the source material. The western adaptions not so much.
