when I was buying Lego Star Wars, I saw Connor and asked for a picture. he saw that i had the game in hand and requested to hold it. obviously I'm not gonna say no, so I hand it over, he then took out the disk and scratched it with his nails until it was in shreds. I was looking in horror and he just said "don't play the first level". it was their last copy of the game so I left sad and scared

What happens is that if the level goes on for long enough (which it will if you don’t have homing shots enabled), there’s a good chance that the level will stop loading, causing you to be sent into a chunk error with a death box repeatedly until you restart the level.

The actual story is that in 1977, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg both had sci-fi movies coming out. Lucas had Star Wars and Spielberg had Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Both believed that the other’s movie would outperform their own, so they made a bet that if Star Wars did better Spielberg would get 1% of the revenue, and if Close Encounters did better, Lucas would get 1% of the revenue. Spielberg now has made millions off of that bet.

I think the "George Lucas made the film as a joke to see who could make the better movie" might be getting his wires crossed. I studied film at university and remember my lecturer telling us about how Star Wars Ep4 (at the time only Star Wars film) released in cinema and was expected to be a flop. So another film was released the same weekend, I believe it might have been Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The 2 directors were friends and they agreed to take a small percentage of profits from each others film's profits (I forgot the exact percentages) Star Wars trumps Close Encounters 3 hold.
