I agree with you. The family needs to wear eye protection and protect their lungs, very important. As we know, after it’s all done and the years go by the health issues surface which could possibly be from NOT protecting yourself. Please kindly take care! ❤️

Beautiful work...♥ But my favorite part was seeing Jonathan beginning to learn these skills and taking part in this as well. Someday, this will be his home and it is good that you are encouraging him to take part in this, and learn the skills he will one day need to have, by not only watching you but doing on the job training with you now....He is a really sweet boy, and is lucky to be so loved and cared for.

In the late 60’s I was in Junior High School in the Midwest of the US. We, as girls, were only allowed to take Home Economics, or Home Ec, as it was called. We learned how to cook, sew, mend, read patterns for sewing, learn to read, and write a recipe, how to clean up in the kitchen as we went along. I WANTED TO GO TO WOODWORKING. Oh well. Didn’t happen. If I’m ever left to my own devises, now that I’m 68 years old, building something(s) from wood will be the first thing I do. Enjoy yourself Ash. Learn all you can. PS: you look like an elf with your mask on your chin, pulling your ears down. Cute. 😊

What an amazing difference that made. Ash thanks for taking the time to reply to the comment about overdoing it in a room that the commenter felt was designed for wall paper. It was interesting to read that bit more of the history.
I think it looks great, and thanks for taking the time to paint/dye the mouldings so we could see them. That was very thoughtful.
You will undoubtedly know this I imagine, but mdf really sucks in the paint, and can look very different to the other painted surfaces, so I think would suggest you prime and seal it before you then paint it along with the rest of the room so you don’t get that obvious difference in the sheen/surface texture.
    Great work :).

I wasn't sure at first - I thought it might be OTT. But wow! It's going to look amazing and it does indeed give the room a bit more of a cozy and intimate feel than just blank walls. We did something similar in our hallway and landing (with very simple pieces of quite plain wood). When people see it, they always comment on the "original" panelling when, in fact, it's just wood mouldings stuck on the original plaster. Go for it guys. Can't wait to see it painted up!
