I love the example that he gives about the student because it is soo relatable to many people out there, plus most of us are not taught of this major pillar of the deen when we are young. Great lecture indeed.
Zakat can change the world. I mean forcing Muslims to give money to the poor is incredible. We can slowly eradicate poverty with zakat. Zakat is one my favorite aspects of zakat.
This subject can be very tricky to understand and even more trickier to explain but I found this lecture very easy to understand, brilliant, thank you!
Dear friend, I am a teacher .in India Karnataka. But very interested on ZAKATH. Have studied many books, but not understood. Wanted to research on it. This is very valuable matter .
As salaamu alaikum JazakAllah Khayr for the bayaan. I learnt about some things I had questions with for some time. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala help us to satisfy our obligations and reap His Raza and rewards, aameen 🤲🏼
May Allah Reward your for helping us understand Zakat. I would like to stress something that's a bit technical and it's very important !!!!! You said zakat is allowed to relatives not to immediate children not spouses, that's true BUT Zakat is allowed from wife to husband but Not husband to wife, reason being is the husband is obligated to provide to wife but the wife isn't not obligated to provide to husband IF it happens that the wife is wealthier and poses assets and wealth and the husband happens to be poor!!!! This is very tricky and I had to research it and allah knows best. Thank you
What is Zakah? Zakah is one of the five pillars of Islam and is a duty performed on a regular basis. Zakah is not an option it is a compulsory act for all Muslims. It is a contribution paid once a year on savings of two and a half percent. This giving is to “cleanse” your money and possessions from excessive desire for them or greed. The idea is, that by giving this money you learn not to place too much importance on material wealth (cash and possessions). Zakah is a compulsory payment and is neither charity nor a tax. It is expected from every Muslim individual. It is paid on the net balance after a Muslim has spent on basic necessities, family expenses, due credits, donations and taxes. Zakah provides us with the opportunity of sharing our excess wealth with those less fortunate than ourselves. In fact we and our wealth belong to Allah. He is the real owner and we are merely the trustees of His wealth. We do our duty as trustees if we pay Zakah as an obligatory part of Ibadah. Islam is a complete code of life which includes among other things, the economic side of life. Islam has its own economic principles. Zakah is one of the basic principles of the Islamic economy, based on social welfare and fair distribution of wealth. In addition to the compulsory payment of Zakah, Muslims are encouraged in the Qur’an to make voluntary contributions to help the poor and needy, and for other social welfare purposes. This voluntary contribution is called Sadaqah (Charity). Through the payment of Zakah, the rich share their wealth with the poor and thus the process of concentration of wealth is checked and fair distribution ensured. One of the key concerns that many people have is that any Zakah given reaches the people in need, this means that there is no money kept by a charity for administration etc. Ummah Welfare Trust operate under a 100% donations policy, this means that every single penny reaches the people in need. ‘Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) as saying: If any owner of gold or silver does not pay what is due on him, when the Day of Resurrection would come, plates of fire would be beaten out for him; these would then be heated in the fire of Hell and his sides, his forehead and his back would be cauterized with them. Whenever these cool down, (the process is) repeated during a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand years, until judgment is pronounced among servants, and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise or to Hell’ - Sahih Muslim
Zakat is awesome. But I have a question about Real estate, lot of people in Pakistan invest in land instead of buying gold. That investment could be a non-rental property and is basically to protect their savings from inflation and to gain profits in value of Land, but they still don't have intention of selling it, as the property value keep on going up anyways. In that case, do we treat that real estate asset as Zakatable?
I get the points of how to give zakat.. shukran Jazaka'Allah.. only one thing was disturbing is about slave.. this shouldn't exist in all this because no one is belong to no human kind. But we all belong to Allah and no one born slave..but we are all slave to Allah Taallah this is how should be.. so I dont really understand about the lecture about slave and Master..
E) But the marriage time they given dowry, and some cash. They did their job great. As per us it was 25 Pawan and 7.5 Lakhs. We didn’t ask them dowry but they give us. Four months before, when we were in good mind in bed I asked her one question to read her mind. Sulaja you are suffering lots of from my mother right. She said right” you have to make her food washing her cloth, even she asking water very difficult right. I said ‘what to do for that” he reply was surprising mind breaking she said “she can kill her”…I said how “she told me she have plan”. Actually it was recording in my phone. Suddenly I stand up from the bed and started to argue with her, and she cried same as before acting, she said she was joking, I told her I am not feeling like it is a joke. We can simply divorce dear, I will wish you happy another life. How can I trust you how I bring my mother here, what security for her? Iam strongly believing in Allah and for his mercy and it is still 10 more years now suffering. Finally our Usthad near our masjid has told me, if it is the problem same, you should avoid her at least to save your mother, but to divorce I have return back her all things. Whenever it is possible the court will allow soon divorce. As this major problem trauma occurred in my life I got many sick such as anxiety, sleeping disorder and having medicine for that, and no one for me to support in this case. As I know there are many frauds in the world how can I make you trust. In this Holly month I can ask you only some few helps. I have all relevant doctor prescriptions that treat me for anxiety, depression to show you, and for your kind reference I can submit you our Usthath, Khatheeb letter too.
I lost all money by doing a business in Ksa , since three year I’m struggling here without food and accommodation, my parents , wife daughter everyone living with prayers, nobody to help them and me except god , I cannot leave this country without settlements as well.. pls pray for me.
A person starts calculating the anniversary once they have gained the minimum balance, and must hold it for a year. Fluctuations during the middle of the year are of no consequence, unless one’s zakatable amount reaches zero. Only the beginning and end of the year are taken into account. One has to possess a zakatable-minimal both at the beginning and at the end of one’s Zakat year in order for Zakat to become obligatory. More at the FAQ at bottom of here: seekersguidance.org/zakatcalculator/
Note that in the Hanafi school it makes no difference whether your assets drop below the nisab during the year; you only look at the beginning and the end of the year, as somebody else has already pointed out. In the Maliki and Shafi'i schools, however, if your assets drop below the nisab, your year automatically gets 'reset', so to speak, and you would start the year afresh once you reach nisab again, as has been mentioned on Zaytuna's zakah calculator: zaytuna.edu/ramadan-2020/zakat
@@nadeema.7699 JazakALLAH.. Another question. Say if an unmarried person with barely enough for Nisab was living with his parents, who did not meet nisab (in fact, were receiving charity from others), would he be liable to pay zakat?
@@722guy Help me paint the picture: Do I understand correctly that you are supporting your parents financially, besides the donations they receive? If so, do you have any form of income of your own or do you only have your savings? Do you have to pay rent as well or is it only food and electricity etc. that you have to pay for?
@@nadeema.7699 It is four of us. My parents do not work, nor do they have any savings, neither does my brother. I do not have a job, I do freelance work online. My work is seasonal, so there are a few months where I go through all my savings and am left with nothing. I spend my money on paying for groceries, medications, bills and sometimes rent. Our rent has been overdue for a long time because of our financial situation. I have to decide between paying rent or saving up enough for food and essentials during low seasons. My parents also get cash from charity organizations but it is not enough. I refuse to eat anything from the charity that they get. That's one of the reasons why I buy groceries for the house from my own money. Basically I am supporting 3 people. My savings reach above nisab during April/May (which was Qr. 17,000 this year). I am in a dilemma if I should be paying zakat from my money, when my parents themselves are receiving charity.
So to purify gold and silver taken from and to increase only for those who is unqualified based on nisab. So if all Muslim is above the threshold, what's is does it means to Increase.?
I understand what you are saying about those poor Muslim in America. however, those people receive a lot of government assistance (section 8, food stamps, etc..... while oversea the only source for poor people is Zakat
Hazrat ji if there is no zakat on diamond and platinum then people will invest in these valuable ornaments instead of gold and silver and will not pay Zakat. Why not to make ijtihad to make these items zakatable. These items do ' namu' generate money. What do you think? Imam Muhammad Abdul Jabbar
He says in the beginning of the lecture that people can also opt not to pay zakat. It is a personal resposibility and I do not think it is the government's job to give zakat speciffically. Sure they can have programs and events to give charity for those who are poor, disabled, etc. But "zakat" in of itself is a personal choice that Allah has cleared the rewards of doing and consequences of missing in his glorious Quran.
Caristico brother, one of the best ways to give zakaat is in a way that nobody other than the giver and recipients should know about it. So you never know...
