@@FishinNStuff love your videos! So I have been going back and watching your older videos as I am a newer subscriber. Going back to your drifting weights. I came up with an idea for you to try instead of buying your solid core lead, take a couple 2x4 pine about 12” long. Clamp them together with c clamps, drill a hole down the middle of the two boards 1/4” diameter. One hole 6” 8” and 10” for different weights. You know what I’m saying? Lol keep up the hard work.
@@BOSN_BAITS I was planning something like that but with aluminum ( just because I don't like making stuff but once lol ) but that is a great idea with the price of lead rising
@@FishinNStuff well I’m glad to hear that or another thing is get some 3/8” copper pipe which leaves 1/4” ID polish the inside best you can and run some lock wire down the center and that would be less labor extensive
I literally was just telling my son that I was gonna try flex seal on our big catfish net and boom it was on your video! Rubber nets also keep hooks and sinkers from gettin stuck in them.
They sure do . I did one about 2 or 3 years ago on a hack video with plasti dip on the net hacks I wanted to try flex seal . I think I like the flex seal a little better
The best part of this video was the attack dog Ryley. Reminds me of a junkyard dog I met years ago who barked and growled like he was going to kill you till he got close then it was all tail wagging and smiles. The net hacks were good too. Keep them coming.
I like to hear that quite a bit! But then I saw that monster net and said hey all that needs is a handle and what do you know You put an awesome handle on there! Thank you so much
Whether you fish or not, this channel is EPIC and a must-watch! Thank you for your time and efforts, each video brings not only useful tips but also joy to people's hearts...
Ok, the net's cover is real nice and you can not trip over it, but how do you net a fish with the cover on??? net size doesn't matter a lot when you fish for crappie and brim !!!
Really like all the hacks you've turned me on to. Like you paying attention for rubber coating on nets to protect the fish. Since so many fishermen are doing catch and release leaving a healthy fish without missing scales or bass with a broken jaw from holding them by the lip makes sense.
Once again Keith, you put out amazing information. I was watching this video in the shop today while putting new line on a couple cat poles and about freaked out. I have the same black tool chest with my JBL on it too haha. You got me beat though with the RUclips award. Thanks for adding the kids to the video, they are our future of outdoorsmen and women.
Little different hack for adding the handle to a net. Could use Paracord or rope, tie it like a " survival " bracelet and either dip the middle or spray it with flex seal to stiffen it up and add grip.
Back in the day, when I was not only fishing all the time but also riding dirtbikes all the time, I would take a Renthal dirtbike grip that I had sitting in a toolbox and put it on my net. Believe the throttle side is sized to fit. This was probably 20 years ago. The net is all dry rotted but the grips still holding strong lol
Excellent hacks Buddy 👍🤪. Numbers 5 & 6 are the BEST, especially coating with flex seal . Helping with hooks not , getting integrated . And tears up your experience net . Plus also helps keeping the protection coating of the fish. As you holding a fish in your hands, is like somebody. Picking you up , with HOT IRONS 🔥. The less you touch them, the more chance of survival.
I found my granddad's old fishing net. The net was rotted out and all the plastic caps were gone. Bought a new net, sprayed the foam in the handle and sealed the ends with red plasti-dip. Now here's one heirloom that I won't loose! Keep those AWEsum hacks coming!

@@FishinNStuff I guess more than we’d think. Wish I had a pool noodle on my rod when it went over the railing at a pier 😂 luckily I fished it out with a treble hook
I love the step bit hack for sinkers in your other vid. I used wood but I need to pick up a block of aluminum. I found that letting them cool for a few hours makes them alot easier to remove from the wood.
Your right . But I'll tell you this they come out of the Aluminum alot easier , honestly . A metal distributor will have it or if there's a machine shop near you they might have a piece
Good stuff... I've never seen a net cover before.. I'd lose it ...guaranteed... I did just get a new net.. I'm going to make it float...thanks again awesome video
Great video as usual Keith !!! Fellow North Carolinian here … I’m still curious, that with your shop experience and ingenuity, to see if you can come up with some kinda extra boat trailer security … it’s all good if you don’t .. just a thought .. Really enjoy your channel … God’s blessings on you brother …
Yeah, I use all the typical “ball type” locks when storing my boat and work trailer … but there’s so many videos of easily picking those or quickly cutting them off … I had a friend who had his big work trailer stolen in a 10 minute span …I fully understand anything can be compromised, I just thought with watching all your videos , that you might come up with something simple that might aggravate a thief, or take him a little longer … Anyhow, I’ve thought on it myself a bit, but hain’t come up with anything else … So, just a thought .. no biggie .. Maybe you can get enough subscribers that you can retire and just do videos .. Now that right there WOULD be Awesome !!!
Great hacks, bro! I've been using a few of those extension cord clamps on the different lengths of anchor line & ropes on my boat for 2 years and never did I think of using one to securely stow my net. Thank you for bringing it to my attention because I have had to replace a stepped on and bent to hell net and almost go for a cold swim for one that jumped overboard and would have sunk if not for the foam handle already this year.
I really like the heat shrink grips. When I had an old grip that looked bad I just sanded it until it looked smooth and black again. So I might get these heat shrink grips to add color next time. Lots of good ideas and a fun video! Thanks!
Those are great my wife always has some kind of issues with the net you can bet when I go to town tomorrow I'll be getting what I need to fix the issue thanks for more great and brilliant ideas those really are awesome
A handle at the base of the net is awesome! BUT when landing those BULLS we need another handle at the TOP of the net to support the net frame from bending and most probably breaking our nets. I'll bet we can use one of those handles from that 2 pack and mount it to the top of our net using heavy duty zip ties. You show us how and git er done!
Just seal the end of the tubing. You might have mentioned this but you said fill the tubing. Seal the handle tubing as well. The net will not sink until the tubing fills with water.
