    We have plenty of decent talent. Do we think that programs like Boise State, Iowa, Maryland and Illinois, for example, have better talent than USC? The problem seems to be the demonstrated inability of the coaching staff to "coach up" and develop these players. The above teams that I mentioned, who do not have the overall talent of USC, have performed better because their coaching staff have been able to make their players better. USC , not so much.

    • @HartofSports
      @HartofSports 2 дня назад +2

      This the one. USC has undercoached and underperformed far too long. USC is plenty talented but the coaching hasn’t developed players the way coaches like Kyle Whittingham, Lance Leipold, Deion Sanders, Curt Cignetti, Spencer Danielson or Kalani Sitake have in shorter tenures at their respective programs. All these coaches have done way better with much less talent.

    ......Just like the Oregon Ducks and Canes Paid more money for this kid. He went for more money. It's the only way Oregon and Miami can get their players. They have to buy them off.
    A USC Degree blows Degrees from Oregon and Miami away.
    He jumped ship for the money. Not for the coaches or the facilites. If someone else offered him even more money he would leave you too. His loyalty is to money and not to any school. Sorry to burst your bubble. A degree from Oregon is not worth the paper it is written on. Facts.......

    Time to say the quiet part out loud. We don't have the talent. We don't have the players. We don't have the depth. Look at our players and then look at Ole Miss players. Or Texas. Or any of the top teams right now. Watch their body language on the sideline and in the press conferences. Our guys don't look like Championship players. And, before you jump me for calling our our players, remember it's about money. We don't have the players because we're not paying market price. We're not.

      I've watched a couple usc games this year where they were having lots of success running and than all of a sudden just stopped running. its weird, I feel like there's plenty of talent they just ain't playing to their strengths. let's see what this next qb can do, but little to late in my opinion.. they shouldn't be 4-5

    The one call that irks me still today is the call in the Minnesota game. The defense gets the goal line stop on 4th down. So the Offense should now be in and they go to replay. Its inconclusive and the White hat over rules the call and reverses it. No proof seen that the guy scored yet its overturned! Just incredible to me how that’s permitted?

  • @tonyhaywood619
    @tonyhaywood619 2 дня назад +1

    I do not have faith in Riley because I don’t trust him not to abandon the running game. He needs to understand that running the ball is the foundation of USC Football. Going away from the run was a major factor in each loss. To paraphrase Travis Dye: No runny, no winny, no natty.

  • @DPMixing

    This is going to keep happening because players and recruits are seeing USC football is in a vulnerable position and trying to leverage that for more NIL than they’re actually worth. Eventually USC has to call their bluff or counter negotiate and the player leaves. Competing football teams see that too and see USC recruits/players as easy flip targets. Isaiah Rakes the DT that left that wanted more money was an example. Bear renegotiating his NIL in the offseason as he was courted by other teams was another.
    The more down bad we get the harder and harder it’s going to be to entice quality players without throwing stupid amounts of NIL at them. At some point it’ll become unsustainable. Overpaying 3MIL for a 4-star player because we can’t get anyone else to come other than for money.

    You see it's what football is all about, NIL is taking over college football and it allows cowards to buy recruits and not put in the work to recruit player's. It's funny that Miami wants to play this game, I mean out of all the blame game of am not a criminal, yes you are a dam criminal. You went after a young man with money and brought his hand but did you get his service of I want to be a hurricane and work hard!!!! USC like USC J said it's time to change the game. Recruiting has changed as far as I can see. It's no loyalty at all in this game and we were stabbed in the back by a known criminal organization. I thought they were trying to change there ugly face left of the old. I think our next president must go out and send a dam big message that if you come at us with money NIL at our committed recruiting, we are going to hit you back hard and I mean hard, hard, like a gang set you take one of our will take 3 for 1 and I mean hit them hard through recruiting their top committed. It's time to play big bank take, little bank!!! USC has been playing too nice to college football and it's criminal organizations football teams. It's time to start checking some boxes off on recruiting. I mean let's go get these recruits because they damn sure coming at us. Like Rambo would say, they drew first blood!!!! They started this crap am just finishing!!! Fight on, oh it's coming and coming hard. We must trust the process. I've never seen USC get serious and never rise to the top in football, it's just a matter of time people, a matter of time. This NIl has changed the game and we need to capitalize on it, let's go

  • @keithrhodus3451
    @keithrhodus3451 2 дня назад

    It's not about coaching. It's about money. Always has been. SC's NIL program started WAY too slow. Now, our collectives are badly underestimating the market for players. We aren't paying, so the players are leaving. Our coaches are great. But, it's not just about development. It's not just about the prestige of our university. It's about money. Some of the same Trojan legends complaining about our performance on the field, are forgetting that it's always been about money. I was quiet when they played, but it was about money then too. I will say one other thing -- the NIL folks aren't marketing themselves to the fan base. They don't return calls. They don't answer emails. It's a joke. I know the folks running NIL in my region (I'm in Dallas), and I can tell you without hesitation that Texas and even SMU are running circles around SC as it pertains to NIL. SC needs to decide -- are we gonna pay up and protect our storied football tradition, or are we gonna be a Stanford wanna be -- a top university with a totally irrelevant football program.

    I think the blueprint for how to turn around a football team was seen in what Pete Carroll did. He knew how to bring in the right people for coaching and for recruiting. Some coaches got it and some don’t. Right now USC doesn’t have it. Why are so many 5 star athletes from California going to play for schools back east? It isn’t just about the money. It starts with recruiting. If you can’t recruit well, you’re doomed to be a perennial mediocre program.

    • @DPMixing
      @DPMixing 2 дня назад +1

      Recruiting and money are inseparable in the modern world of college football. Kids are looking for the highest bidder. You can spend 3 years courting a solid relationship and a team like Miami or Oregon will swoop in at the 11th hour and offer them $8 million, a penthouse condo, and a Lambo to get them to flip at the last second. It’s completely different in the NIL era. Pete would be lost in modern college football recruiting and worse yet he would absolutely hate it. You can’t just sell them on storied history, pro development, a top 25 solid degree and having a charismatic players coach like we used to. Unfortunately USC was too little too late to the NIL race and were now seeing the immediate effects of that.
