Ramakrishnan Murthy: Raga Gowla

The supremely talented and much-loved Carnatic vocalist Ramakrishnan Murthy was the featured artiste at Sursangam, the 10th Memorial Concert in honour of Prof. Suresh Ramaswamy, at BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa Campus, organised by Srutilaya and co-presented by IndianOil as part of the ongoing "NOW HEAR US" concert series.
He was accompanied by Vittal Rangam on violin and NC Bharadwaj on mridangam, both exceptional musicians in their own right. Tanpura support was provided by R Shivsundar and Darshana Songara.
Ram opened his recital with "Sri Maha Ganapathi", a Muthuswami Dikshitar composition in Raga Gowla set to Misra Chapu (seven beats) tala.
