I'd like to say a very big Congratulations to the Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon. Rotimi Ameachi and the Buhari Administration for a job well done. You deserve a medal it seems like I'm listening to a lovely childhood story this takes me back to when I was still a kid this is pure Naija plus your voice is soothing nice 💯🙌
The train ride indeed is a delight, clean cabins, spacious leg space, nice music, but one is advised to carry a wrap or something warm to cover up with because the air conditioning is extremely effective. I’m happy that the new station from the Lagos end is now functional because I have traveled twice on the train not too long ago and the inconvenience of struggling on the old train tracks and over gravel with my suitcase was terrible. I hope the infrastructure at both the Abeokuta and Ibadan end has also improved, because on my trip to Abeokuta passengers were actually falling down on the makeshift bridge or path created from the platform to the again makeshift car park. I also wonder why tickets need to be purchased with cash an hour or so before departure. We should be able to purchase tickets either online or use our card considering the fact that we are priding ourselves as being a cashless nation. Overall we have done something good and I can only hope this can be maintained.
Thank you for sharing this good news about Nigeria. If successive governments can continue like this, surely, we will all be proud of the country. May God continue to bless Nigeria.
Thank you for taping and sharing your experience Mr. Soji Oyawoye. This should encourage Nigerians home and abroad that some good is still happening in Nigeria. As the transportation system is being improved, we look forward to the security issues to be addressed as well. In the 80s, I was 15 years old the first time I travelled with my younger brother on the train from Dugbe station in Ibadan to Bukuru Jos to spend our summer holiday with our uncle and his family, and we did that consecutively for 3 years. My dad would wave us off at Ibadan station and my uncle would meet us at Bukuru station, no one was worried for our safety on and off the train. Again, thanks for this, I’m proud to share it with my children. 🙏🏽
Thanks a lot Bros, for this beautiful Train travel story about Nigeria.,very exciting. Yes o my lil Sis😘! It was a great train travel experience from Dugbe Ibadan to Bukuru Jos, to spend our summer holidays. May the Lord rest the souls of our late Uncle and his dear wife, that used to host us then. This is a brilliant 👏👌 documentary with a real perception of what is on ground. Yet with optimism of what tomorrow holds for rail travel in Nigeria 🇳🇬. Please keep the good work going giving us more views of what our country can become; with Intention and Dedication...
This is beautiful. Not always bad news after all. More optimists and optimism. God bless Nigeria. Growing up in the 70s I remember travelling on 2nd class Coaches. Well maintained and good. We even had 1st Class then and 3rd class before things went down. People should maintain this high standard. Great!
Wonderful! My early years were on traveling on trains in Nigeria because our Dad worked with NRC for many years. I pray Nigerians will cherish these new trains and stations as theirs and protect them from damages. Proper maintenance and timely repairs are will be keys for use long of these trains and stations. These will also provide employment for many Nigerians. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. More to come for Nigerians
So pleasant to see. Maintenance services will be key to ensuring continuity. Auditing these services will also be crucial good maintenance service delivery. And several people getting employed.
Thanks for sharing your experience sincerely, highlighting both the positive and negative aspects. It shows that with the right leadership and focus Nigerians can enjoy infrastructure and services at near par with the developed world. Successive governments simply need to put in the incremental effort to sustain and grow these modest achievements.
Thanks for the review. It brings back memories of my trips from Lagos to Oshogbo as a student in the mid to late 60s. The trips were more chaotic then and took a whole day. Let’s hope they keep up these nice standard that you have shown here. It will be nice to experience this trip.
