I agree unless they are a proficient 3rd Strike player, many skills can be acquired that apply to almost all fighting games. Oh and also KoF games those are hard as balls too, or maybe I just suck balls…. Who knows?
He'd be right in that case. But I always thought Magus was very descriptive and he didn't really clarify that or use the common term "duckable". Not tryin to hate though. Respect to the STA guys and Mr. Naps is crazy good. First time I've seen him play and I had no idea we used the same team.
And that's the essence of capoeira: It's not a style that depends on offense. So of course you won't see a lot of contact striking. I wouldn't know where to lead you, but I'm sure you can find "matches" somewhere on RUclips. It's actually quite entertaining, but there's a lot that can be learned from a match between two practitioners.
Look at the difference in players in scenes. Naming several players doesn't counter that statement. There just happen to be players that are very good at multiple games, Justin being one of them. But in every game, the majority of players can only be effective in that specific game or that specific type of game.
That's pretty much reinforcing my idea. There are definitely players that put time into multiple games and have become top level at them, but it still doesn't change the fact that most people are just more tied to certain games or game types. Almost everyone plays every game out but only some people's names are actually associated with a game because they've gotten very good at them, for example.
Your totally right.. I get it, my mains are Christie/Eddy, Asuka, Xiaoyu, lili, Zafina, devil jin, Law and my personal best Yoshimitszu because most of his sword attacks are unblockable.
That mindset shouldn't be treated as a good thing. A big problem with 3D fighting game communities is the mindset that "Our game is superior to yours because it takes longer to master" is the Albatross for growing their communities.
Thanks for the linking tip. The 1st link is to a pretty well known link posted by capo-proponents as if it were somehow an indicator of the effectiveness of capoeria in MMA. It's pretty silly considering the guy who loses stands with his hands down while his opponent spins twice across the ring. You'd have been better off suggesting something by Rousimar Palhares or Anthony Petis.
Yes I'm familiar with that narrative. In reality very few of the techniques practiced in capoeria are practical in a martial conflict, but that is besides the point, Tekken is a fantasy game full of fantasy moves. The issue is that much of the capo's moves are ridiculous to the point where they stretch beyond the suspension of disbelief and Tekken is a lesser game because of it.
Man, I understand that Magus doesn't play this game. But sometimes it just gets to me that he talks like he knows what's up. At 30:15 he says that Drag's b-4,2,1 is an unsafe string where it's actually +3 or 4 on block. I only know this cuz I play as Drag so I'm not saying I'm more knowledgeable, but the misinformation can throw people off.
Capoeira is a real martial art with a very rich history, it may not be the most useful now, but have you ever heard of a thing called "context?" To a group of slaves who had to pretend they were dancing and singing, and not actually practising for self defense, this martial art was invaluable. Nobody's saying that people fight like Tekken in real life, but the martial art wasn't invented by Namco, was it?
Ummm... Naps is every bit as solid as they are. The only issue is Naps doesn't constantly play like they do. He wouldn't get destroyed. In fact him and Knee have done FT5s and both have won them. Granted it was in T5, T5DR and T6BR. Still they weren't one sided fights. So clearly you haven't done yours either.
justin wong plays this game and does rly well and mr naps also plays AE so i dont understand this 2D mind or 3D mind. its a fighting games if you have the fundamentals for fighting games you should be alright. (2cents added)
I would have to disagree. Capoeira isn't a "typical" art in that it focuses on evasion and outsmarting the opponent. A match between two capoeiristas brings light to the term "mindgames." But put one against another who uses judo, karate, or any "traditional" martial art, and it just SEEMS silly. But I haven't seen a move they use in Tekken that isn't practical in capoeira, with the exception of some of the offensive techniques in the game.
But they don't even practice defense, no blocking, no parrying, no sprawling, just a lot of ducking and weaving. I'm sure there are practical techniques in Capoeria, but the focus of the art is on flowery movement and not on combat. The idea of a legit capoerista that wins fights is a myth until proven otherwise.
LOL....are you fucking serious with that question....? so do you also think if you get in a small car accident, you should just not drive that car anymore, and just buy a new one right?
I really don't understand why you'd want to link clips of MMA, an arena where capoeria and other sillier martial arts have been essentially debunked. As I said before, there are are moves from every style that deserve some merit or consideration, but the martial philosophies demonstrated by capoeria run contrary to many of the basic truths of martial arts.
Well, not really, Tekken capoeria employs a number of physics defying fantasy nonsense. But regardless, in real life capoeria is a silly dance exhibition offering few practical martial arts techniques. The handstand pose somehow offers excellent evasive properties when it should be highly disadvantageous, and the relax pose allows for insultingly stupid evasion options. In fantasy or reality, Tekken capoeria is just poor quality martial arts.
Capos have dumb physics. I mean, Tekken 6 already has pretty lame looking physics, but capos are some of the worst offenders. They make Tekken look too silly.
Whatever, You couldn't beat me even if you wanted to. When I'm through studying I request an online match against yours truly. you should put your money where your mouth is then since your so bad... I highly doubt it.. somehow I can't reply to you and I don't know why but I hope you can see this comment
Back to the days where Mr Naps looks like a legendary Kung Fu master
2:40 "Honestly dude if your a street fighter player and you try to play this game... good luck." THANK YOU ! FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT !
I agree unless they are a proficient 3rd Strike player, many skills can be acquired that apply to almost all fighting games. Oh and also KoF games those are hard as balls too, or maybe I just suck balls…. Who knows?
Naps could make a good villain in the movies but damn this is years ago
That guy kept saying no wall no wall on a NON WALLED STAGE lmfao..
back then Mr Naps looked older than he does in 2018
6:00 I so remember that part of blood sport, i was probably 8 when i watched it lol
wow jimmy here looks like the lead guitarist of a power metal band

mr naps is the king of rock n roll
Your totally right.. I get it, my mains are Christie/Eddy, Asuka, Xiaoyu, lili, Zafina, devil jin, Law and my personal best Yoshimitszu because most of his sword attacks are unblockable.
"when's marvel?" tired of people commentating this game who don't give a shit about it.
That mindset shouldn't be treated as a good thing. A big problem with 3D fighting game communities is the mindset that "Our game is superior to yours because it takes longer to master" is the Albatross for growing their communities.
The laser sound is not random. Certain moves just make that sound. :/

You can duck the last hit on reaction and punish, so yea, it's not a safe string.
finally mr.naps smile

Good finals

yea slaves who were probably starving and thirsty were practicing slippery kicks in the field
@@chaelsthumbnailposture3135 you need to stfu
Why when people loose a match they always use back the same characters?... I just don't get it if the selection screen has so many characters

that what we call practice.....
how thats how the fighting style looks in real life?
I've never seen a legit match between to capoeristas, it's always just been a series of movements and evasion, never full contact striking.
20:09 ohhhh
I think he meant it's unsafe because you can duck the last hit
Yoshimitsu unblockables are unusable in real competition, you can't even spell his name :P
Well technically Naps did face Knee in a first to 5, Bryan mirror match in Tekken 6. Knee crushed him pretty bad.
Mr. Naps plays 2D and 3D games.

Bryan and Drag need nerfs more then Eddy and Christie.
It's practically obligatory:
"Shang Tsung WINS!"
{Mwahahahahahaha}
"Fatality..."
Hey, at least it's not a "FIRST!" comment.
street fighter players don't get this due to no fireballs and move list is too vast
and knee and sunchip?
naps has beat knee in FT5's. And knee has beat sunchip so, do the math :P.
I thought you didnt watch other people play tekken! lol im a subscriber of yours

no one can mr naps
I wonder what shampoo Mr Naps uses
19:22 lol, thats not snake edge :P
@NfnAllowed lol I know huh? It popped up on my wall so I watched the first few minutes
Capo's need a nerf
that mentality is why "YOU american players" will never compare to them. defeated before you even try.
i really hate ttt2 bryan
fucking eddy needs to be nerf so many safe moves to set up other option select.
LOL....are you fucking serious with that question....? so do you also think if you get in a small car accident, you should just not drive that car anymore, and just buy a new one right?
it was sarcasm dude chill
eddie is not tekken for me...
Capo players are so scrubby
