I got 10% for tinnitus. I submitted the sworn statements and memorandum for my combat action badge. Worked for me. Also, I have great hearing according to the VA. Hearing frequency range has nothing to do with it. You can have great hearing, and also have tinnitus. Give it a shot guys and gals, you deserve it.
WOW I have gone through audiology twice, over the last 3 years or so. The second dr said my hearing is perfectly fine, and that the ringing/buzzing is from allergies (that I do not have). 😫😢
Here are two extreme examples of how the VA/BVA grants Tinnitus and Hearing Loss to a Korean War-era National Guard Veteran who served stateside, yet denies Tinnitus and Hearing Loss to an in country Vietnam Combat Veteran. I had a great Audiologist.. She looked in my ears and noticed something very very deep inside my left ear. She offered to clean it out. She was just great and even stated that all military should receive compensation just for signing up.. Her husband is also a veteran.. Now I'm just waiting on the VA to service connect or not.. I believe that I will since she agreed that my ringing and hearing loss is very military related..
With my SC tinnitus and left hearing loss I filed a claim for Menieres/Vertigo. Surprisingly the VA accepted my evidence and the C&P examiners. Came back and rated me 100% with know future exams. That also includes Special Monthly Compensation because I was already 80% SC. So if any of you fellow veterans are SC for tinnitus or hearing loss. Please make sure you inform your Doctor if you have episodes of vertigo no matter how brief. Peace✌🏽
I have Tinnitus so bad in my right ear. It wakes me up in the middle of the night, or I cannot sleep. I constantly have to ask people to repeat what they have said, or ask them to speak it slowly. I have to use subtitles when watching movies. I do not like to go to the movie theater because I know that I cannot understand everything that is said, and I feel I have wasted my money. This is just one thing I have going on.

Got a question . I filed for Tinnitus with the VA a few months ago. I was a Navy Builder (BU) in the Seabees in the late 80's. BU is on the Navy's list of presumed Ear damage MOS's . I had an incident in 1989 and I twice tried to report my ear damage and was told not to. I was told that if I pursued it there could be problems and discipline issues for myself and 2 NCO's that were supposed to be in charge. FYI the issue was that there was almost never any real supervision. So I withdrew my attempts at reporting my incident. So I recently filed for Tinnitus . I only filed for Tinnitus. So I sent my DD 214s along with my discharge paperwork , I also sent my civilian medical Doctor paperwork that included a Nexus letter saying that my Tinnitus was directly caused by my incident that happened while on Active duty and also they sent tons of medical paperwork regarding past ear exams. So i created an online VA account and recently they sent me a note saying that they may not send me for a medical exam and that they make a decision soon. Does that make any sense ?? Any advise or opinions would ne greatly appreciated by anyone Please. Thank you

Was denied for my tinnitus claim for service connection about a year ago. I was in artillery in (1982-86). Need some help in this matter. Wasn't deployed during my time on active duty. Should I be service connected for this or not? CNMI veteran asking.
Sworn Lay Statement. Write it up yourself in the form of a typical business letter. Make sure the English grammar is impeccable. Give as much detail as possible including names & who you confided in, your mental state at the time, & why you didn’t report it. Once done, go to your local bank & have it notarized. Sign your statement in front of the notary. If you are a bank member the notary will not charge you. Cheapest way possible. If you want to make your claim stronger, go to a psychologist or regular doctor, tell them your story, & have them fill out the Statement in Support of Claim to create a nexus so you can tether it to service-connection.

tinnitus: every scammers dream diagnosis. that's why it's so hard to prove it for the claim. because so many have abused the system for their own personal gain to allow them to continue to leach off the system and as a result makes it harder for those that have real disabilities to get compensation for their disabilities. see, the scammers were working the system since their time in active duty because they knew what the end result would be. but for honorable service members, going to medical for anything other than life threatening things is something that they just won't do. not only that, but most also hold back when describing symptoms related to mental health because it can be embarrassing and humiliating in some scenarios. not the scammers, they will stand up in a large group setting and announce absurd stuff just to perpetuate and reinforce their bullshit.
LOL dream diagnosis? How is that? Its 10%. LOL i guess for someone like you, who it sounds like has had claims denied? Maybe a dream. Im at 80%, about to have a appeal awarded to me for either 90 or 100% and working. Should find out soon. Tinnitus is SIMPLE to prove, thanks to the Supreme Court. :) All it takes is a simple statement, and 4-6 examples of experiences you think led to the tinnitus. Thats it.

tinnitus: every scammers dream diagnosis. that's why it's so hard to prove it for the claim. because so many have abused the system for their own personal gain to allow them to continue to leach off the system and as a result makes it harder for those that have real disabilities to get compensation for their disabilities. see, the scammers were working the system since their time in active duty because they knew what the end result would be. but for honorable service members, going to medical for anything other than life threatening things is something that they just won't do. not only that, but most also hold back when describing symptoms related to mental health because it can be embarrassing and humiliating in some scenarios. not the scammers, they will stand up in a large group setting and announce absurd stuff just to perpetuate and reinforce their bullshit.
Thats it.
