    My truck -- 1990 f250 IDE 130K -- got water in the engine and wouldnt fire (old gas in the resrve tank).
    I.followed your video including the diesel product and filter and my truck started right up.
    However, I bought the filter shown and theres a pigtail electrical connector at the bottom of the filter w nowhere to attach to.
    Anyway, great video, the information was so well presented, I literally did all the steps and fired my truck up and it saved me a TON of time, especially the screwdriver thru the filter trick and explanation of direction to turn which is CONFUSING for us weekend warriors.
    Best regards,
    Adam

    I used to fill mine with a qt of auto transmission fluid. Grandpappy told me to do it. Ran like a charm.

    I fill my filter to the top and it doesn't miss a beat when I start it.

    That hammer & screw driver truck works like a dream, had to do this on the side of the road, was running wmo, & the oil cleaned out the fuel system. Haven’t ran much more on the front tank till I put a 2nd filter housing on it. Got a bio diesel filter setup, but haven’t ran the fuel in the tank through it.
    On this job, every idi owner should put an electric fuel pump on their truck, when priming you turn the truck on w the pump & every 5min you press the fuel bleeder, & eventually fresh air free fuel will come out.

    just Bought a 94 F250 7.3 , was a work truck has a workbed on back , has sat for 5 years , Charged battery used a small spray of starting fluid , started right up and Ran 5 miles to house , Love it going to put a flat bed on it

    • @luke8222
      @luke8222 3 года назад +2

      If you keep it nice, when the engine dies (it'll be a while lol) you can swap it with a 97 powerstroke. All Plug and play. I had a 1994 4 door long bed dually idi with a powerstroke engine and trans very clean swap

    Man I thought my idi was clean, that engine valve cover is very clean! My idi has 211k on it & I can tell the filters been changed a lot cuz of the lack of paint on that side valve cover lacks some paint.
    Nice clean truck sir!

    I have done this a lot and found that when your cranking the truck have somebody hold that purge valve until steady fuel comes out. Only takes about 1.5 seconds of cranking. This way the truck won’t choke or stall. I have never had my truck stall on me doing this. Give it a try next time

    • @kimboykin3453
      @kimboykin3453 5 лет назад +2

      Tyler Skidnuk what does the purge valve look like? I have a 1991. That wire sensor on the bottom of the filter gives me a fit every time. I was looking for an easier way to hook that.

    I have a serrated oil filter wrench to get these filters off. Putting the filter wrench at the top works better than a lower location.

    On mine, The housing that the filter is attached to is leaking around the water sensor, does anyone have a part number for that piece?

    • @CacheWeston
      @CacheWeston 4 года назад +1

      In meantime...you can use specific JB Weld and seal directly around that sensor.

    strap wrench works great on these filters and save the fuel for the next filter or use trans fluid because trans fluid will lube the injector pump while cranking and bleeding the air out of the lines

    • @jayrock5911
      @jayrock5911 6 лет назад +1

      jesse james what kind of trans fluid I know automatic but specific brand and kind ?

    • @charliekiger
      @charliekiger 5 лет назад +1

      @@jayrock5911 I just used some cheap universal ATF. You really only need it for lube while cranking and burping your injectors.

    Thanks, this helped alot. However, I have the bottom of the filter has a small nozzle....it that supposed to be connected via a rubber tubing?

    • @mrkirchy4602
      @mrkirchy4602  4 года назад

      At the bottom mine has a screw off to let out the water in the water separation part of the filter. So, I guess that depends on your filter type. I saw no option for that as a hose would prevent moving the screw mechanism.

      That’s your fuel heater. They typically leak due to the O ring. Here’s a video for you: ruclips.net/video/3Gr5WHziE10/видео.html

    While that Wix filter with built in drain valve sensor port is twice the price of one that uses the separate cast piece I am done with wasting time removing it it from the disposable filter. You have to cut it off.

      The wix 33416 comes without the sensor so no need for cutting off...
