Awareness, and open conversation is a good thing not bad. Itbis good people learn what a shunt is and potential reasons for having it. Absolutely no reason to be ashamed. On the contrary, if you want to avoid a discussion, you may politely refuse and don't think anyone will take it further, insisting for details.... Thank you for sharing your thoughts 🙏

Ty for this series. I am 45 yrs old. Was born with a vp shunt. I have always hid my shunt area with my hair. Up till I was 30 I hid my tummy scars too but them I started wearing a bikini for swimming. No one asked about my scars. I am pretty open about having hydrocephalus though.

I dont hide mine why should? Its not my fault i have it. I keep my hair military type short just in case, so if anyone asks i tell them ive had 5 brain surgeries. I think awareness, and open conversation is a good thing not bad. Why should i hide or be ashamed.?
