A great day for the Battle of the Drummers! All of the participants were WINNERS to me! They all had their own style, showed up and did well!! I love seeing these children engaged in something positive and they all won!🏆
Not crazy about SWAC cadences but I appreciate the difference between them and east coast cadences such as NCAT, NCCU, and Norfolk. East coast has a very different style from SWAC. Guess it’s just what I am used to. Anyway, I appreciate the hard work from both groups. Drummers are the hardest working section in the band.
This is a nice battle! Couple of things: Dega, your 3rd from the left snare...I love his confidence, but he's gotta learn to match the rest of the line. Some on the right side need to match stick heights. Someone above me said the perfect word...and this is for the snares...CLARITY. Dega cymbals! You are the 1st (that I've seen) that can match Z-Phi's energy! Overall, great battle!!! WT's legacy continues to grow and expand! Those who know, know!
Yeah that snare was the only thing that really threw it off otherwise everything sounded and looked good. I think it was just a battle of which cadence was better. All sections for both lines looked good and sounded good.
JSU for the W & I see WT/ Memphis inspiration in Dega drumline. Round 1: JSU cadence set the tone 🔥 and Dega 1st was cool but it was more flashes than chops. Round 2: Tie (Dega improved this round.) Round 3: JSU (the beats were more intricate). Round 4: JSU (love this this 12:36 & 14:01) and the ending was 👌🏾. Round 5: JSU (best cymbal flashes all night 16:30), here I realize Dega don’t have quint/quad players. Round 6 & 7: Def JSU Round 8: Tie
Good battle Jsu was consistent throughout sound and delivery, wish they had more snares to push out sound but i know how that go Talladega consistently gave a new style every cadence not good, great hand work, still over the top Simple is better Overall glad this happened
@@organizednoise9614he’s not lying tho in the beginning ones you clearly hear the temp issues I’m not even a JSU band wagon you clearly hear it ppl with good ears tho
All this Material sounds the same today to me,Back in the 90's going to the 2000's.We Knew Funky Cadence's from Drumlines,And Played them in High School. They Own Cadences,Don't see no More Funk Trains. This New Stuff Cool,But Everything sounds the same now.AND PLEASE STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! SOLO'S DURING A DRUMLINE BATTLE.Please Stop It!!!!!
Degas bass drums and tenors are not in sync with each other at all lol and their cadences lack dynamics and cleanliness, its like the cadences were made with thought of trying to outdue jacksons material, the stick heights are outrageous there's no unity with degas snares....dega sounds like someone who just learned the drum set vs Jackson sounding like someone who's been playing at the local church for years lol literally
Just my opinion… For Talledaga I’m sorry but the Z’s need better parts. Sounds like they were literally squeezing shi in and it makes it sound cluttered…which was the main cause of tempo problems for them in my opinion. Tenor drums and bass drums need to be tuned a little better too much rattle. Also, I believe Talledega doesn’t really sound bad as a whole, just need some polishing and back to the drawing board. Wasn’t a match for WT. Coming from a SU fan 💙💛🐆
WT from Jackson has such clarity and complexity. Def got the dub! 🔥

That first cadence JSU played was hard ashh📌💯
Perfect start to the day. Hot tea, a J, and a HBCU drumline battle with top tier contestants 💪🏿💯😤
Beautiful Sunday morning 🤣
LITERALLY !

Dega is not SWAC but they def influenced by JSU’s WT style.
@@dripsipp Thanks for the correction.

Memphis?
In my opinion, talladega drumline is the only other drumline that can go toe to toe with WT. Both these mf's are the truth. THE BEST OF HBCU DRUMLINES
Cold Steel
@@Gnosis639thats way outta any swac lines league only line thats competing w steel is mdfs or any big meac lind
Shii FT i already got em in the fall
@@Kvngdontethat’s what i was thinking
Dega can mess with JSU AS WELL AS Lane College, TnSU & NCa&t.
One thing I noticed was the lack of quint sound. Dega would sound a lil better if they had em. WT good job using em tho
Big WT does it again props to dega doe they str8 #wt4l
WT gets this one. But it was a toe to toe battle for sure
I don’t even want to choose because I enjoyed that battle 🔥🔥🔥
Jackson got det bihhhh
WT is groovy. Sheesh
Both Schools are Fire 🔥. Shout out to Mu Phi Sigma National Percussion Fraternity Inc
👇🏾 #TT7
Pretty close one tbh but if anything Jackson got it by a little bit. Slightly more groovy & crisp that’s about it. Dega drums sounded really good.
Dega had that 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 . Folks just been rooting so long for Jackson how dare they switch sides i feel ya pain . Tornadoes 🌪️ wit the Dub
I think it was a tie but I definitely agree with you
Dega basses and tenors need proper form until then they will continue to take L’a
JSU was better. They had a more crisp sound and was very clean. Dega had some moments were I was like what just happened.
RR has really great control they did a really good job in this battle vs WT I ant look at a drum battle in a while but glad I looked at this one
How the crowd louder than the drums?
YES, JSU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clarity like said no cap dega had moments um like wtf they doing that shit sound scrambled but Jackson damn!!!!!!
Are not looking at stick control and clarity?
Where was this and was both band there or just drum lines
Good batte ! One word though ….CLARITY
Dega on top 🏴☠️🏴☠️
Good battle
Jsu was consistent throughout sound and delivery, wish they had more snares to push out sound but i know how that go

Simple is better
Overall glad this happened
Clear win for WT....
but....
I think I like dega's cymbals better.
I did NOT know Talladega was ackin BADDDD like Dat!! 👀👀👀
I hear 1 tenor on Jackson side..I hear 7 on Dega’s side
This da beginning?? Wht I missed
Dega needs to join the Swac fr long over due hood battle
®️®️🏴☠️ Y’ALL KNOW WTFGO #SILH
Lotta Jsu fan girls in the comments stop the cap😂
I honestly didn’t know talladega had a decent drumline all I really know is war and thunder
Get out that small box & explore mate
Dega is like the evil twin to WT in a way lol
Talladega smacking too
First cadence JSU TPHI in anotherrr Dimensionn
If dega get some snippets and more cadences theyll be more 🔥🔥🔥
Amazing
Great battle but JSU won this. Much respect to Dega for putting up a fight. WT still remains on top.
It’s too many people on the field and in the line of sight for the lines. They should have been made to sit outside of the teams. 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
When did this happen 😭😭😭
Yesterday
Dega wit the dub
Wt got this one
Goooooo Jsuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WT vs Bloody Rain September 7th!
Watch out WT Talladega is coming for the title.
Dega for the win
JSU 😂💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very clear difference...jsu wins (easily)....couple of dega cadences i do like tho, they just had 2 many TEMPO issues
There were no tempo issues… you just have to count. Thats how those cadences are. Don’t cap to justify a win for someone!

Ain't no cap at all, the bass drums and tenors ain't in sync at all especially with them triplets...tenors catching it too slow every single time lol

Im sorry but WT slapped these boys wit quality and a tad bit more precision

Wait…wat i miss….when this happened🤔
talladega got that🔥
this video makes me appreciate MEAC drumlines even more 😂
when MEAC drumlines be playing 🥱
Cold Steel definitely the best drum line
Great battle but Dega got this one …. Sorry to tell yhall but there’s a new top dawg in the drum world
Nah. Stick control. Clarity. Consistency across the board? Thats all WT! Renegade is def right under WT and they solidified this at this event!
Dega tdrums and basses don’t even have proper form so no
Dega won everything here
This was one sided 😂😂😂😂😂. Jackson dug in them

💯💯💯 These cadences lack musicality altogether to me. The 90’s cadences told a story with style.
