- Driver ran a red light going about 40mph. I hit her suv broadside at a bit under 20mph. She also hit the gold sedan that was just ahead of me in the left lane. No injuries to anyone. I wish I could have seen her to avoid the crash but her suv lined up perfectly with my car's a-pillar until she entered the intersection. I had the brakes to the floor less than a second after seeing her but it was too late. She admitted fault at the scene. It could have been a lot worse, but my Mercury did get a lot of damage to it's front end. The car was in almost perfect condition before the crash. Filmed on a GoPro Hero 8 on my custom camera mounts that I make in-house. See Part 2 (coming soon) of this video for an update on the Mercury's fate and the aftermath

As an update, the Mercury has been damaged beyond what I can repair and repair shops won't touch it unless an insurance company is backing the project. They won't serve a cash customer. The other driver's insurance company, Nationwide, says they absolutely will not repair the car and will only pay a small part of it's replacement cost and that I am responsible to pay the rest of whatever it costs to get another car. Nationwide also will not pay me for lost income totalling at least $6,000. I filed a complaint with the Nebraska Department of Insurance and they say that it's correct for me to have to pay to replace my car. I tried to find a lawyer to represent me in a lawsuit against Nationwide but there aren't any lawyers in my state that will do damage suits like this. I had to sell the Mercury and currently only have my 1981 Dodge truck to get me through this winter. David Steiner at Nationwide insurance is the claim handler that told me that his company will only pay such a small amount and he literally told me that if I didn't like it, I should get an attorney. Nationwide has been a complete nightmare every step of the way
wow. thank you saving me the trouble of looking into 1 insurance company for any of my properties. what a bunch of incompetent assholes
you should upload another video with updates using this content as clickbait. More outreach to save more people the trouble of signing up for such a shitty insurance plan.
Man make a video and drop your cashapp or paypal there we gotchu
She saw that shirt and decided she had to right humanity
But but but nationwide is on your side
Glad you're okay and hope that nice Grand Marquis gets repaired well! Might have been a good thing you were in a car with a full frame
oh man that’s some scary stuff but i must say you have some of the strongest composure and reaction to a situation like this. i know many including me would downright panic! Glad no one was injured i wish you the best and the safest on your next road journeys❤️
Fortunatelly you are intact, physically at least. Mercury acted like a tank. Has the insurance declared its total loss? I hope not...
I hope they'll repair it. I really like the car
If that happened to me in my Crown Vic I would react a lot more severely than “oh crap.” Good thing you have the dashcam and I hope insurance aren’t stingy buttholes
Damn. No space to brake or evade. :/
At least it seems that the bumper did a good job of protecting the rest of the car.
Dang thats a bummer! Glad it wasn't worse and glad you weren't hurt!
Man, that's insane.
Good luck with the merc.
Gutted for you mate. Glad nobody was hurt at least
Dang, sad cause you haven’t had your Mercury for a while too. Good to see everyone is okay
Damn bro! Glad everyone is alright
sucks! glad all involved wasn’t injured. big bummer it happened
Hey,
May I use your dashcam clip in next compilation video ?
Linked and credited on screen. Any other updates?
Thank You !
Yep. You can use it. No updates yet
@@70stastic Glad You are alright!
Thanks a lot!
Jeez, I'm glad that You and no one else are not hurt
The sequel NO ONE wanted.....
Bad news. Thank heavens for USAA and Geico. They were there when I was young and stupid totalling cars. No games, no BS, my payments were good and so were theirs. USAA reimbursed a part of the new paint too, not just the basic blue book value.
That sucks. Hopefully the insurance company isn't trying to write off the value of that beautiful Mercury as a total.
I’m just tryna figure what was the causing of the accident in the mustang?
Oh wow. Good thing you are okay. The damage looks mostly cosmetic thankfully
Hi there,
Would you be okay with me using this footage for my channel?
Of course, I'll credit you on screen if you wish!
Also, would you happen to have any updates?
Thanks!
Yep. You can use it. No updates yet.
That just shows how much of a tank the Panther body cars are, and especially full-size body on frame cars in general. It took out that unibody crossover like nothing. Yes the Grand Marquis had front end damage but the entire car was still mostly intact and could be driven.
Yep. That's one of the reasons I love these cars
My first thought: No, no, nooo! Not a Panther Mercury Grand Marquis! Such a classic. Glad nobody was hurt though.
#1 rule of any crash, especially if you're not at fault, is always go to the hospital. Even if you feel fine in the moment, you never know the extent of your internals due to the adrenaline. The other party's insurance will pay 100% of it and it's like getting a free checkup. You can get all the exams that normally cost an arm and a leg for free basically.
Glad there were no injuries and sorry about your car.
Would it be alright if I show this clip on my channel? Credit given with a link back and on screen watermark!
Any update, what's the damage on your car? Also, where did this happen?
Yep. You can use it. No updates yet. It happened in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the 70th and O st intersection.
@@70stastic Thank you very much, I appreciate it!
its always the old people man
Screw intersections and insurance companies man
that sucks so much :(
Damn bro! You crashed a mercury. My 2nd favorite car manufacturer. I'm glad nobody is hurt though.
That mercury is really nice too
welcome to lincoln. the driving sucks. this is just minuscule to what actually happens everyday.
Looks like it was just the header panel, bumper and headlight assembly, I had to do the same fix, when I hit a deer in my town car last year
I thought that too at first. I did a repair for deer impact damage like that on my '92 when I first bought it and it was pretty easy. Both frame rails were pretty badly bent on the Marquis though. The whole frame was shifted a few inches
theese old amerecan boats are like a tanks, such an amazing cars.
I would tell a judge to take away the license of the person who caused the accident! It’s proof they are reckless
"not this shit again"
Bad luck mate
what is my guy wearing?? whyyy
you were not able to go through your own insureance?
This is why in "EVOC" training they teach you to look both ways proceeding through intersections and side streets even when you have right of way. Unfortunately they don't teach this in regular driving school. The poor Merc..... Coulda been avoided with simple head turn. I peeped it way before it cross the white line. Poor panther looked clean too. 😭
I looked both ways multiple times before crossing the intersection but the a-pillar blocked my view of her car. The camera is about 12" back and had a clear view of that lane that I couldn't see
@@70stastic ouch. I had that happen in my Vic the other day. Dude walking across in the dark wearing dark clothes gets right in my driver a pillar. Couldn't see till I was right on him. Good thing I knew to chill around the area I was at so my reflexes could have the time to take over. 😰
That sucks! Sorry
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the almighty MGM will live to fight another day. And also, glad that everyone involved wasn't hurt.
no airbags?
The crash was just under the g-force required to deploy the airbags
Show me the original video
Abi plakayi verde o ablanin geçtiği sokaktan geçmeyelim
Should have said your back or neck hurt and went to the hospital. Their insurance would have been a lot more eager to pay you whatever you needed then.
Surprised you weren't asleep at the wheel like before.
The heart meds work pretty well. Haven't passed out since that one time.
@@70stastic its so crazy how your car was directed through that fence twice to avoid the traffic....
You coulda easily died or hurt someone that day but you didn't it'd amazing man and I don't say that to make you feel bad
I was gonna say the same thing I thought either he fell asleep or he might’ve blacked out overheat or something related because it didn’t look like a seizure. It just looked like sleep or a blackout on the reaction he made when he came to.
🍵
Bahahha she is smiling in the video and u can see tue passenger has the look of im sick of this and running red lights.
you car airbag’s is off
Maybe ya should stop driving. Didn't yo crash nice Mustang too ?
He had low blood pressure and didn’t know it. Now he takes meds and no problem since.
