When I was in high school, I was working at a McDonalds in Wheeling WV one early morning, I think it was 2000. As I was working the back, a bunch of dudes walked in and they looked familiar... but I couldn't put my finger on it. The rest of the McDonalds staff were looking at them cause you know... punks be weird. But something made me curious. I left the back grill and went up to them and said "Hey, are you guys in a band?" They all looked at me and said "Yea man, we're Ghoti Hook." One of them showed me his tattoo on his arm, which was the ghoti hook logo. This absolutely made my day so I absolutely flipped out and was able to take a lunch and spend a few minutes with them. They were the nicest dudes and extremely cool. I remember telling them how I got their new album Two Years To Never, Shorthanded and some other punk album recently and they made me feel like a champ for striking punk gold. As a young punk rock kid living in WV, that was one of the coolest things you could ever experience. I didn't even think to get their autograph or kidnap them and bring them home to feed them real good food instead of junky McDonalds. Regardless, Ghoti Hook was also a band I never was able to catch live. I saw MxPx, Ninety Pound Wuss, Living Sacrifice, Zao (they lived close to Wheeling), Project 86, Slick Shoes and so on... but never Ghoti Hook. But I had the next best thing. Such a great thing to have as a memory.
That's awesome, man! We might be playing in DC this summer if you're up for a drive. I'm the one with the Ghoti Hook logo on his arm. You made my day. Cheers!
This is another band I saw a ton back in the day, during the Sumo Surprise and Bananaman era, they always absolutely killed live. Glad they're going out again, hopefully they come by me. Thanks for this one too!
It’s weird seeing them as a 3 piece band now, I use to hang out with Conrade when they came but back then they were a 5 piece and sometimes brought friends.

yeah, they'd been a 3 piece since like.... 2001? their entire farewell phase was a 3 piece, and every reunion since has also been a 3 piece.
Lol, I thought they had more members, I saw them in 90’s? At c stone
I was hoping they would play Let It Ride. That song was so much better live than on the recording.
Thanks for posting this.
I was at this show!
