My fav is her 'Gone with the wind/Tara' sketch. In the movie Scarlet O'Hara is broke so she makes a dress from the fabric of her drapes. Carol's version is a bit different. LOL

The Eunice & Mama skits became so popular it led to a spin-off sitcom, "Mama's Family". Carol Burnett is up there with Betty White and Lucille Ball in the beloved icons department.

Many of us born before the 2nd half of the 20th Century were raised on the comedy of the new TV stars of that era - great pantomimists like Jackie Gleason and Red Skelton, hilarious sketch comics like Sid Caesar, Howard Morris, Imogene Coca, Carol Burnett, Milton Berle, and Lucille ball all graced our living rooms in 50s and 60s. Most have already left us. Long live Carol Burnett.
The Family 'Sorry', is hilarious!
And Carol is still active. She does commercials for ME TV among other things.

I loved watching The Carol Burnett show as a little girl...she was everything, and her co-stars...top notch. My favorite woman comedian/actress/performer ever and she can sing.
The Family sketches were my favorite from the show. Carol also did spoofs of movies and commercials.
I agree that the next one should be the “Gone With theWind” one.

Went With the Wind, which is a parody of Gone With the Wind.
Carol was on a TV show last night talking about a program where she plays a role. She looks amazingly good and she was joking as usual. She talked about how as a teenager she was an usher at a movie theater in Los Angeles and she refused to sit people minutes before the end of a Hitchcock movie and she was fired.
Vicky Lawrence plays Momma. She is also a very talented actress and singer.
Momma's Family became a regular skit and series.
Thanks for doing The Carol Burnett Show again. You might enjoy the Family sketch with Maggie Smith. Hysterical and poignant.

The Carol Burnrtt sketch that makes me laugh out loud every time is called Dog's Life. Another great one is The Dresser.

My favorite is 'Went With The Wind' a parody of 'Gone With The Wind.' Also her spoof of Sunset Boulevard where she plays Nora (Norma) Desmond. There are several of those.

Mama's family skits were very relatable to everyone. You have to check more of them out it's mostly arguments where they're dredging up things from their past, hidden resentments, it's really hilarious

Always fun when Vicky Lawrence appeared as Mama. The bickering between her and Carol was hilarious! Mama's character was so popular it was spun off to her own sitcom called "Mama's Family". Vicky also had a #1 hit "The Night the Lights Went out in Georgia" in 1973.

BETTY WHITE played Eunice’s (Carol) mean sister Ellen in the family skits. The best one with Betty is “the family attic.” On the carol brunette show.

Although Vicky Lawrence played the mother, she was actually 16 years younger than Carol Burnett.
When Vicky was still in high school, she wrote Carol Burnett, a letter. When Carol Burnett personally called Vicky, Vicky thought it was a joke. Becky joined the Carol Burnett show fresh out of high school and she stayed with the show for the entire 11 years. She met her second husband, a make up artist, on the Carol Burnett. They’ve been married since 1974.

Great fun. I loved watching this show as a kid. She used to do a question and answer segment with her audience after each show and she was always so quick and clever. Happy birthday to Carol!

Eunice seems like a lot, but when you think of all the abuse she's gotten from her mother all her life, it's so sad, and when they stop a minute at the end to acknowledge the sadness of her life, it is quite a moment.
Did you notice there were no actual jokes? They delivered dialogue but in a funny way. The Family never had jokes in them, they simply delivered their lines and interactions but the laughs came with their actions alone. Vicki Lawrence who plays Mama was in her 20's.
"Gone With The Wind" skit should be next...Hopefully you have seen the movie
I'm not sure what kind of "fancy" restaurant has a salad bar! And the woman with the chocolate mousse was seated with her partner just before the Higgins party arrived. How the heck was she already on dessert???
