I never saw food in another dimension till i started watching Masterchef australia..Now my kid 7yr old, criticizes and imitiates Mellisas elagance and comments on my food . Its most pleasant truly inspiring competition. You know those contestants made their mark even after the show .Thats like a career milestone rather than competition.

Got this in my recommendation just now. Watched for the first 20 minutes and absolutely amazed at how you just let the guests speak without interrupting them even once. Just that alone deservess applaud not even mentioning all the amazing conversation about the family values, humility and keeping the show real and not over dramatic. Loved it. ❤❤

I had always liked eating, but Masterchef Australia changed how I understand food and cooking. I started cooking for myself and got better at cooking for friends and family. I found my passion in cooking. My mom always used to cook something special for me and my brother on our birthday. Now we've taken up to that on her birthday for the last 2-3 years. Thanks to the show, and thanks, Sanjyot, for this amazing podcast.

So true, the usp of masterchef Australia was that they showed how cooking was an activity involving love and appreciation. There was so much positivity, learning and the right amount of tension taht I fell in love with all the judges and contestants from every season.

My tryst with Australian media started when i watched "Round The Twist" and "The Sleepover club" on Pogo. then "Packed to the rafters" was one of the first shows i watched on Star World
these shows hold so much nostalgia for me, that it was a run back to my childhood with these shows

The best part of your episode is about you describing the intricacies i.e. getting into the details.
And also touching on the problems that one may face while doing the dish.
Which actually is a testimony of the fact that enough research has gone into it. And makes it easier for rookies to replicate.
In short, a recipe is shown keeping amateurs in mind and not from the Chef's perspective.

Its great to see YFL do podcasts. One with Krish Ashok ? Also will help in improving the spectrum of dishes shown here on YFL ( please i am not offending but Indian food is not Punjabi food, and theres a hugeee punjabi food variety that even doesnt make it to Restaurants and RUclips channels)

  • @pallavrajpatra7227

For me it was the masterclasses. Before Masterchef Australia it was Top Chef for me. However, Top Chef was gorgeous food porn and great drama.
While Masterchef Australia also offered fair bit of drama, it was those little nuggets about how to roll the perfect dough or how mayonnaise is really 'lassi' made from egg yolk and olive oil that demystified western and fine dine cooking, which endeared me to show.
That and the lovable personalities of the judges. I will always remember Matt bending down on knees while wearing a pristine white suit to scoop up expensive caviar from the floor that a contestant had been oblivious about.

Ofcourse , my favourite show and the three made it very enjoyable. Made me look my own vegetarian cooking differently from the weird Non-vegetarian , which I would not even spell in my life. Gotten over the stigma!
My reason, the Australian people , participants were very decent , fundamental and didn’t have any crazy attitude. There are many favourites in every season and I felt the worst when the 3 were replaced.
Very good quality program with quality people!
