    Great work, but surprised no talk of Food Forests/Forest Gardens, as is being done in other parts of Ethiopia, and Senegal etc. Trees provide max food per Acre, while being Carbon Sinks, Wildlife habitats, and bring back/stabilises local hydrological system, providing food and water abundance & security!.

    Could bamboo we started there? In the Midwest we have some very hardy and very fast growing types of bamboo that might be useful. Best of luck!
