Apparently the have stopped sterilising equipment like nail clippers and other metal/glass items, not only that, there a skips full of once used walkers, even wheelchairs are readily disposed of! I worked in the NHS in Bradford in the Disabilities Team for a while. My friend who is an Occupational Therapist used to do home visits to assess people. She was regularly asked to support an application for an extension to the house 😉 for the disabled person, which the council would pay for. She would tell them that she couldn’t do that because it wasn’t anything to do with her.

And they told me "No sorry, it's held back for refugees" The family that moved in had been living here for over 2 years already...didn't like the area they lived in so got to move. It's disgusting!

Just watched Yorkshire Rose podcast about a 16th century Manor House in Telford being given over to illegals. My husband applied for a council house when this New Town was in the early stages of development. We were both questioned at his mother’s house about status, work situation etc etc to see whether we qualified. It was quite rigorous. Now it seems that groomers can live there happily. Who vetted them? Who allows illegals the right to stay in a hotel Manor House that many of the locals couldn’t afford. I think Charles II actually stayed there too. It just beggar’s belief.

I try to stay optimistic but weep for the country I grew up in ( I'm 75) when you didn't have to worry about giving your views on matters that concerned you. My country has been swamped by diversity. Our religion seems of no account compared to others. My daughter has now taken one of her sons out of a school which puts forward no Christianity and put him into a C of E school where he can learn about his own religion. It would be lovely if my grandchildren could grow up with the framework we had. A society with empathy and good moral values would be wonderful. Keep up the plain speaking we need it.

I have seen first hand the cost to our system of these marriages. S&L therapists, Occupational Therapists, other surgeons/therapists. Plus Educational therapists and SEN reports and help. Then DLA for each child. The other problem is the need for a healthy child so it goes on. It is very sad actually. I worked with one young disabled woman. She was very intelligent and hard working. We all loved her and felt very protective of her. Her mother was a very gentle woman and her father a hard working businessman. Her healthy brother refused to marry his cousin. I think education is the answer. Surely young Muslim men want healthy children and if they knew the dangers then they would not marry their cousins.

My daughter has now taken one of her sons out of a school which puts forward no Christianity and put him into a C of E school where he can learn about his own religion. It would be lovely if my grandchildren could grow up with the framework we had. A society with empathy and good moral values would be wonderful. Keep up the plain speaking we need it.

I have seen first hand the cost to our system of these marriages. S&L therapists, Occupational Therapists, other surgeons/therapists. Plus Educational therapists and SEN reports and help. Then DLA for each child. The other problem is the need for a healthy child so it goes on. It is very sad actually. I worked with one young disabled woman. She was very intelligent and hard working. We all loved her and felt very protective of her. Her mother was a very gentle woman and her father a hard working businessman. Her healthy brother refused to marry his cousin. I think education is the answer. Surely young Muslim men want healthy children and if they knew the dangers then they would not marry their cousins.

Back in the day before our population was the size it was 1st cousins married. My great aunt who lived to 94 married her first cousin. Had three of the brightest children. They used to say it was to do with genetics but that did not show up in my family history.
