Hi Kim, thanks for your comment! This juvenile or fledgling at 24:38 is a 2024 hatch judging by their plumage. Spirit should look different since she's 2.5 years old now. There is a very useful article on this that you can find by searching "bald eagle plumage by age". Hope you enjoyed the video 😊
Hi Anne, that's a great question. In Dec 2022 a juvenile eagle showed up, and while many thought it was Spirit, Jackie puffed up and kept making warning calls till the poor youngster left - after stealing her coot from the nest! No one knew if Jackie encouraged that because she left the coot and hopped onto a higher branch before the juve came in. If that WAS Spirit, then I guess it suggests bald eagles did not want their fledged children back in their territory. But this juvenile at 24:38 is not spirit, because judging by the plumage it's a 2024 hatch, and most likely a newly fledged eaglet that just learned to fly ❤️
I am smiling from ear to ear. Think about them all day and 😃 ❤❤
A juvenile eagle could be Spirit (Jackie & Shadow’s kid).

I thought this was a protected area, how was someone allowed to fly so close to the nest?
Isn’t that Jackie and Shadow? I thought this was their nest.
Nah it's a juvenile eagle (left) and an adult on the stick depot snag at 24:39
would they consider their own juvenile a threat?
