Check meeting Paul and Tina Shinn off of my bucket list 😃 👩🔧👨🏼🔧 AKA David. Really enjoyed seeing and meeting you both today. Glad you and the car made the trip in perfect shape. As always thanks for the video.
My Dad and his brother took a trip from Ohio to California in a Model A in the late 1920s. Dad said that when they got to steep hills they would have to back up the car since there was no fuel pump. When they got to the Mohave Desert there were planks on the sand in some places to drive on. A real adventure.
Good to see your excitement and to hear you and Model T are going to Kerrville fot the convention. I've already watch Tina's video on the trip and it looked like y'all had some beautiful scenery to take in. Enjoy your time there and I hope you both have a safe and enjoyable trip back. Thanks for sharing, have a wonderful weekend.
I hope that your journey is full of blue skies, with interesting people and beautiful places. Can't wait to see some videos and pictures of the road trip.
I hope y'all have a safe trip with no problems. I'd love a clear distributor cap so that may get down there for one day, no way can I stay for the week, although I'd really like to.
Can't believe you're going to drive out here in your model A. It's freaking hot outside have a safe trip. Liked the comment about the duck tape there's actually some truth to that.
I’m with you Paul, if the in-laws are here I’m ready for a road trip!!!😉 Seriously, no seriously have a safe and fun trip. Watch out in Van Horn, when I drove a truck in the mid eighties there was a cop there that drove an old yellow ford pickup (early 70s model) that was running radar. Talk about undercover!! I hope you took lots of “I Did That!” Stickers to put on the gas pumps!! 😉
Something I've wondered for a while, but not found a satisfactory answer to on other channels is do you actually daily drive these older vehicles? I guess some people claim they do, but they really just drive them when they don't feel something is time-critical. Or like going to work or something in a model A or T when so many other drivers are driving so aggressively that driving a car without so many modern safety features would seem unwise.
I daily drove a Model A for just over a year. All the things you mention are true. However, I started taking back roads everywhere just because it was safer and really began to appreciate the areas otherwise not seen. Even driving the modern car now, I still take back roads when possible because of what I learned daily driving a Model A. With that said, I drive a Model A every day when I am not going to work. But for work, I need the 4x4 utility truck for what I do, and I admit to being a wuss and needing air conditioning now.
What, no water pump pliers ( Channel locks ) or a ball peen hammer, living life kind of dangerously aren't you ? Safe travels everyone. Oh, and Tina gas went to $ 5.25 a gallon here in Amish country this week .
@@ModelA oh that's a good deal I noticed when you did your road trip to Texas they were all talking about the Mitchell overdrive you look those up online they're out of stock 3200 bucks great investment. Didn't realize they've become so popular but boy they are fantastic to give you that running gear where you can go on highway speeds not just chugging along at a max speed of 25 LOL. Perhaps Mitchell can't even produce them as fast as people want them now they're in such a demand.
Hi Paul ! I own a 1931 coup and I have hydraulic brakes, when I start to drive the car and have to brake, the car pulls to the right side....after warms up it does brake and stops without pulls to the side. What could be? Thanks. Keep up the good job!!
I would say it's less a case of "warming up" than pumping up the line from use. My guess is there is air in the left side, so you should bleed that side as a first step and see if that does not solve the problem.
Your average speed was about 60-65 mph with the OD. What would it be without the OD? Have a great trip and I’m looking forward to your next video! Stay safe!!
I feel so bad I can’t make it as I’m laying in a hospital bed in St Jude’s in Fullerton, California. Hope y’all have fun!
Hi Ed prayers heading your way from Boise Idaho 🙏🙏🙏
Haha - "Metallic Magic Carpet" - now that's a good way of putting that service. Best of luck - hope you made the trip without issues!

Hi Paul, I'm new and proud owner of a 1928 model a, I wanted to say thank you for all the videos you make they have helped me a lot. Thank you again.
Excellent! Good for you. Thank you.
You forgot to hang your water bag over the radiator cap. LOL
See you there!! Look forward to meeting you.

They must have had a Model T with the fuel tank under the seat! haha! Model As don't have that problem.
Grandpa could fix anything with bailing wire, glass strapping tape and a pair of pliers.

If you're on I-10 heading through New Mexico, you'll drive 1/2 mile from my house in Las Cruces! In any case, see you in Kerrville!

Hey Paul and Model T. Good luck on the big trip!
Hey, thanks!
Glad you two made it safe and sound. You two are awesome!
Kerrville, TX, eh? I've been there. Be prepared for hot, HOT weather. Bring plenty of water.
My God, a lot of courage and willingness, congratulations, I drove my Ford A close by and I'm afraid to stop lol
I love the colors of that car!
Thank you!

Drop in!
@@ModelA , do you have a booth number or how does this work? Wondering how to find you in a crowd of 1000s
A booth? Ha ha! Hey, I'm just a guy. Just like everyone else. No booth involved.
@@ModelA, great. I'll just shout your name and someone will say " he's over there!"... lol
Dude, seriously. Just a guy. Nothin special.
Have a great trip; Tina posted some footage; that was a hell of a drive! Take care and enjoy!
Yep!
where is the footage?
Glad to see you're taking my dad's old hand held HAM radio!!
Absolutely!! You dad's radio has more Model A miles on it now than a lot of Model A owners!
I hop your model A has air conditioning. It’s been triple digit heat here in Texas
It does not
@@ModelA good luck to you🤣
@@ModelA , I've learned in my 30 Fordor to keep driving in Texas heat. If you stop you melt, just keep on keeping on.
Man, I am a long time supporter of your channel and would love one of those clear distributor caps. Have a great time on your trip.
It would be pretty darn cool to go on a road trip in a Ford Model A!
The fuel tank was a gravity feed. The fuel cap was on the hood just in front of the windshield.

Hope the trip goes well Paul. Can't believe you left the 10,000 Snap On OBD2 scanner behind!
Right??! !!
Awesome. See you tomorrow most likely after church!

@@56squadron Thanks lot! I will try.
Where's your luggage? Have a good time.
Do you have to grease it along the way, because the instruction book says 150 miles for most of the fittings.
Nah. Just before we head home
I'm curious what is the fuel economy of a model A like that.
About 25 MMPG
Your average speed was about 60-65 mph with the OD.
What would it be without the OD?

probably 45 without
