Supplies used:
Painted paper, white acrylic
paint, white chalk pencil, stylus,
white gel pen, black oil-based
Sharpie paint pen, brown water-
based marker, water brush, circle
templates and a gold gel pen.

Is there a way to make the art have a shiny finish somehow? I know it sounds stupid but resin maybe?
this project is GREAT! creative,and using the water soluble crayolas great idea. Now.. what drives me crazy is how come my white pens don't EVER draw,write like that! the ink stops in mid action,never bright white enough!!AAHHHGGGGHHH! their good brands to.may I ask what white pen your using HERE..in case I missed if you did mention it:)

The white gel pen I used is a Signo gel pen. I like this brand.
It will write over dried acrylic paint with ease and It will remain bright white.
The ink will change colour if I write on the dried water-based marker (it will automatically tint the white ink with the same colour it is drawn on).
I will be posting another picture, similar to this one, on Instagram (@art_by_Leanne) today that will show the tinted white gel ink. I did the background the same way as this one, except I used two colours. the white gel pen picked up both colours. It wasn't my intention for that to happen, but I really like the effect. I'll call it a 'happy accident.' :)

I made the painted papers with watered down acrylic paint and regular printer paper. The pages are slightly buckled when completely dry so I stack them and put them under a heavy book for a few hours. They flatten right out.

I love the way you used the stylus to make the dots in descending sizes. Did you use a lighter touch each time, or was it just that there was less paint on the stylus?
Thanks! I like using my stylus. It's one of my favourite tools. I used the same pressure to apply the dots. You were right, there was just less paint on it each time I made a dot. Thanks for watching!
When you paint computer paper with the watered down paint how do you get it nice and flat while drying? Also what is gesso? Thankh
After I paint it I lay it flat on a plastic sheet(drop cloth).
It will flatten while it dries.
I also store my dried papers in a plastic report folder with page protectors...that also flattens them even more.

Thanks! It is just regular white printer/computer paper that was painted with acrylic paint. It was sried completely before I doodled on it.
