  • This is a demonstration on how I stain regular paper with acrylic paint. I use these papers in a variety of mixed media projects and for doodling with paint pens. I like to use left over paint to make these. I just add water to the paint and apply it with a paintbrush. I make a bunch on these stained papers at the same time and allow them to dry on plastic.

THANK YOU so much for these tips! I also draw Mandalas on coloured paper and after having failed paper marbling I didn't know how to use my acrylics for a quick and easy background. To combine the wild colours with the geometric mandala is so beautiful and I'm glad I'm not the only one in the world who thought about it :-)

I loved watching you play, it looked so much fun. At about 2:27 or so when you start to add the red in the right lower hand corner it looks like a man's back with his elbow sticking out a bit on the left. It looks like he is bending from the waist to the right side.
Anyway, I really liked it when you dribbled the paint onto the page turned it over on your bag or freezer paper and then put a new page into the paint on the bag. I love how the colors blend and move easier than with acrylic paint, full strength. Thanks for sharing your lovely backgrounds and storage idea. God Bless. : )

Such a fun and easy way to make backgrounds! How much water do you add to the paint? Have you tried wetting the paper first to see how it looks?

I dilute the paint with an equal amount of water. I lay them on a piece of plastic to dry and store them in a folder to flatten them. There is so much you can do with home made painted paper. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
